It is slightly concerning that there is absolutely zero comms on the men’s team. Even by the usual poor standard of socials there appears to be radio silence!

it's mid June, I'd rather the signings were delayed and well researched than having them here now before pre-season training even begins!

I’m not even talking about signings. I’m talking positive comms. Granted last season was an absolute sharkter , but even more reason to try pump up some positivity and hope for the future.

Signings wise I would have thought we’d hear of one by now. Many of the player losses have been known for some time. This isn’t an ordinary off season (post 2018) where we’ve seen crucial pieces stay with most of the movement around the visas, but part players and aussies. Just my perception mind, guess I’m still feeling super deflated from the last season and loss of Kosta, Wootton and sutts. I want something positive to latch on to.

I guess maybe they want to follow some bad news with good?

Kostas destination announced today may mean a signing will be announced next week?

Auckland will rise once more

Only two visa spots to fill - unless either Ishige, Nagasawa or Oluwayemi leave on a mutual.

There might be an annoucement or two once the transfer window opens in Europe, 1st July. Then pre season training also starts 1st July. You'd think some Kiwi/Aus players have been invited in to trial.

It's mid June. The ALM season doesn't start for 4 months. Chiefy is likely on holidays.

It's a little no news black hole at the moment, because well..............there is no news. From 1st July with the Wrexham game approaching that will change.

Bill is A-League level easily. He'd dominate as a DM. The fitness thing is crazy..  You can't run around chasing MLS aif you don't have some level of fitness.

Ishige over free kicks. Lasogga, Tuiloma and Piper waiting…

It’s definitely one way to do it!

Greive is with San Antonio in the USL. Hasn't played much, as he's been injured.

A little bit of Kosta about him, ie a small forward who's best work is off nicely placed through balls. Though not with Barba's pace.

Career has tailed off after being good enough to have a couple of seasons with St Mirren in the SPL. Could he do a job in the ALM? Who knows

Went to a US College, so maybe he's just happy playing football in the USL, and then like so many (ex) Kiwi footballers Stateside, setting himself up for something post playing. 26 now.

Though from memory when he signed for San Antonio he spoke of his desire to return to the All Whites. Far better chance of doing that playing in the A League than the off the radar USL.

Gotta love how, on the Yellow Fever site—where they claim to stand for inclusiveness and diversity—it’s the moderators bullying me over spelling/grammar and for simply trying to explore player options in positions we need, for a club I love.
As much as I’ve enjoyed being an active member for almost the last year, I will go back to read only.

Na dude- it’s just Coochie doing dad jokes! We appreciate you. Certainly don’t think there was any malice in it.

It’s a long off season and we don’t seem likely to get a lot of news during it…

No mate, don't say that, that is completely unacceptable you have been treated or felt like that. You are welcome to your opinion/suggestions and you are a valued member.

You might be right - there were reports of Dan Hall getting overseas interest, despite his interrupted season.

Not surprised. It is fairly obvious when watching him play that he is capable of playing a far better standard of football than A-League.

Three for me, and two for them.

How is the case against Lewis going? If he's come out clean(ish) I'd offer him a contract now.

Meh.
Would obviously be a very experienced in terms of A-League experience. With the injuries he's suffered in the last few seasons and given the injury woes we had last season though, I think he would be too risky, especially when we need to replace Wootton, aka, someone to lead the defence and for Hughes to look up to.

Pass for me  no football for what is it 2 years. Would take ages for him to get up to match fitness. For me hugely overrated when he was with us.

In my short chat with Chiefy after the Darwin game I asked if he was looking forward to a break, and he said he'd be straight into preparations for the next season. But surely somewhere in there he must get time off, maybe just not at convenient times of the year.

Donachie.  Pfft

Hopefully it means we’re going to be awesome in other parts of the pitch.

Have we made an offer to Boxall? Might want to show his kids NZ and Aussie for a year.

Musa? Not up to scratch? Not keen on leaving the states?
Adams, K? Injuries?
Adam Mitchell not made the grade?

Mental- Justin Gulley and Cameron Lindsay are still very much still playing. Gulley put in some good shifts several generations of Nix ago.

Outside Boxall we seem weaker without Wootton.

How good are the kids? But leaving Hughes and Donachie our only senior CBs (outside Payne, who surely plays RB) is hella risky.
I like the theory of an Aussie journeyman. But it means our only transfer news is taking a team that did poorly and making it worse. Assuming he’s a Wootton replacement.

Was going to suggest Kaltak, was coming off contract at the Mariners, but he's off to the Glory. Can't actually remember if he was someone that we did look at or had a trial with us while he was at AC, before being picked up by CC.

In terms of someone similar to Donachie, there is Mrcela coming off contract at Glory, turning 35 in October though.

Elsey, younger than Donachie, but he's also had his injury problems.

Kicks a ball. Seems saner and less fun perhaps than Lasogga, but has many layers to his game.

My only worry is if he understands Italiano.

Sorting through a lot of comment about him. Some are panning him, and a few odd folk are roasting him. Some say he’s no good without vegetables around which only describes about half the a league defenders….

I hear Alfredo Fettucini & Porky Carbonara are two Popular players available in Rome. Bit like Bryant & May in Sweden, 2 strikers looking for a match.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

That Bryant and May pair is really obscure. But they could be the spark we are looking for to really fire up this season!

Dude- Kevin Lasagna is real transfer speculation. He’s a Serie B player. I’m beginning to suspect some of your suggestions are coming from the Acme Sports Agency…

Had a look for Concarn and only got George!
