Have we ever been a club that makes key transfers early in the window?
Seems like our style is always spending most of the window finding the imports then picking up whatever squaddies are still around at the end of the window.
Outside players are probably much more hesitant to come here after last season so it will be a loooooong window for us I bet.

Well if you hust signed on the dotted line, Eli. Maybe we could buck that trend. Chowly there's more to footy than Austrian pub league?
No replies to the person who asked if the Nix should be looking at anyone at Auckland City? Surely we need a new fork lift driver or someone good at maths
Geez I thought this was brilliant. I’d rather have a bit of banter with high skillz than posting tumbleweeds every day for months of off season.
It doesn’t take much thinking to realise it’s not a genuine tweet. But the fun part is that it takes a bit more than our other posts cos a bit of effort and skill has been put into the joke and is I’d say no worse than food puns. In fact, it is probably is streets ahead. Are we saying no puns too?
Just thinking on this one. Do we offer Colakovski a deal for another season or is it too much of a risk?
I mean if signing Chico was out of the question due to injury concerns, then it's probably a no right?
But purely in terms of squad composition and now that we've lost Barbarouses, I don't think it would be the worst move. Obviously we need to be confident that his knee is fully recovered and that he could get a decent pre season under his belt.

Just a thought anyway.
Wasnt his injury a full ACL tear? Chico's wasn't anywhere near as serious if my memory is correct and we didn't sign him due to that injury. Unless the Nix are now desperate there is no way they'd re sign Cola

Yeah was a tear/rupture.
Would've thought we might have announced his departure already given contract is up at the end of the month.
Was only bringing it up from a purely speculative standpoint, and out of a degree of curiosity.
Chico would have needed a mutual release/fee paid (unless it was going to be another loan deal) for his services, so perhaps the injury was just the straw that broke the camels back on that one so to speak..
Cola doesn't take up a valuable visa slot and coming off the injury may come at a cut price. It's much lower risk than Chico for that reason alone, regardless of injury severity. Probably depends on who else is available and how his recovery is progressing, but I'm not fully opposed to it in the right circumstances.
You'd think we'll hear either way soon anyway with 1 July quickly approaching.
Other than the visa spot counting against Chico, the timing of his injury maybe meant he would miss part of the season, whereas Cola did his ACL in late December (iirc) so would be able to begin training again in late September most likely.
Although that would mean Cola probably wouldn't be able to get in much of a preseason to be up to speed at the beginning of the season
Hearing from WSW friends that Tom Beadling who left them last year (English centre back with an Aus passport) is joining a club in NZ 👀 make of that what you will

He was decent for WSW in 2023/24 but hasn’t played for a season. Still only 29 though so not the worst option

Irish golden boot holder kiwi Moses Dyer rumoured to be going to Cambodian prem club. He has a release clause of $100,000+from his Irish club. Hes had a good season. But i guess the Nix doesnt have $$ to be paying release clauses. I wonder if AFC would?
