I imagine Good was signed to Buriram United by Arthur Papas. Papas has now moved on to be Head Coach of J1 League club Cerezo Osaka

Not the greatest level you'd think imagine the Thai league, but a bit like Geraldes's Malaysian club, Buriram are a pretty stacked team. They won the Thai League (by 1 point), have a host of Brazilians, a Brazilian coach and made the AFC Champions Elite quarters. If their QF they lost to Saudi giants Al Ahli 3-0. Enroute Buriram beat the Mariners in Gosford. Looks like Good was starting those games.

Good has really lacked something since he had all those injuries and has been on a downward trend since then

He got his shark together at City for a period though it would be weird if he came back now after leaving?

Some of those Thai teams have shown up the A-league teams in the past few years.
Hey Sydney even lost to a Singaporean team!

Good enough to have been signed to a 6 year contract with a premier league club. That’s preety good going.

Australian international as well.

Could be a good upgrade on Scotty

I tried.

But this is the off season, and we've been seriously short of the speculation of late.

So I guess in a way, you're all welcome. 😆

Very impressive signing by the women too. Looks like they're going to be going big this season. 🙂

If he is to cross the ocean to come here, they'll need the Marines.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

If the Lasogga rumours are legit, this could be a proper coup for the Nix. Sure, he’s not in his prime anymore, but we’re talking about a guy with serious Bundesliga experience and a proven goal-scoring pedigree. At 6’2", he’d give us the kind of physical presence up top we haven’t had in years—someone who can bully defenders, hold the ball up, and be a real threat from set pieces.

Obviously there are question marks—match fitness, motivation, and how well he’d adapt to the A-League tempo. But if Giancarlo and the recruitment team have done their homework, I’d be backing this move. At the very least, he’d give our young attackers someone to learn from. At best? He could bang in 10+ goals and help push us deeper into the finals.

Either way, exciting times. Feels like the club’s thinking big."**

More humorous:

Of course! Here's a more humorous and light-hearted take for the Yellow Fever forums:

---

\*\*"Pierre Lasogga to the Nix? Didn’t have that on my bingo card for 2025, but I’m *here* for it. Big unit, Bundesliga goals in the locker, and a name that sounds like a premium pasta sauce—what’s not to love?

Look, he might be a bit ‘vintage’ these days, but if he’s even half as mobile as he was in his Hamburg days, he’ll be bodying A-League defenders like it’s a pre-season friendly in Austria. Worst case scenario? He gives us 20 minutes of chaos off the bench and becomes a cult hero for shouting at clouds. Best case? He scores a few screamers, teaches the young lads how to properly elbow someone in the ribs at a corner, and we ride him all the way to the playoffs.

I say sign him up. Let’s get weird."\*\*

---

Let me know if you want to dial it up even further or tailor it to a specific match thread or transfer discussion.

Be afraid. AI clearly walks among us. Dare I dial it up further? Also sorry if this inspires some numpty to be an entirely AI multi.

Nobody asked for it to be dialed up?
Here you go:

Absolutely — here’s a version with the humour cranked up to full fever pitch, perfectly at home on Yellow Fever:

---

\*\*"Pierre bloody Lasogga? Are we assembling an A-League team or storming the Bundesliga in 2013? Man’s got the vibes of a battering ram with a mullet and I am absolutely frothing.

This is exactly the sort of unhinged signing energy I live for. The kind where you’re not sure if he’s here to score goals or start a Balkan war. You just *know* he's the kind of bloke who shows up to preseason in retro Predator boots, demands a locker with a built-in schnitzel warmer, and calls every midfielder 'lad' regardless of age or gender.

He could score zero goals and I’d still build a shrine. But imagine if he bags a few? Phoenix fans would be legally required to grow moustaches and drink pilsner before kickoff. Honestly, sign him just for the chaos. Life’s too short not to have a cult hero with a name like a Bond villain and the turning circle of a ferry.

Let’s do this. Lasogga-mania incoming. Brace yourselves."\*\*

---

Want me to tweak it for Facebook, Twitter, or a chant? I'm game.

Man, just to be clear those kangaroo leather Predators were awesome! Hate the sock boot things.

And it’s also clear AI doesn’t know the Fever: Phoenix fans would be legally required to grow moustaches and drink pilsner before kickoff.
and this is quality

I think all the Lasogga chat is tongue in cheek... He hasn't had a good season since the 18/19 season.

It never stopped us before from signing people whose last good season was 2018/2019.

Hemed and the english striker before him, both in similar situations as lasogga. Both scored goals when fit but took a while for them to get going. Similar zawada, when fit scored. Always a bit of a gamble signing out of sorts bench sitting players 30+, they may be quality but also have to be fit to do a job.

Lasogga only made one Bundesliga 2. appearance for a team that finished 14th of 18. He's mainly around the U23 team, so he's clearly got one eye on a coaching/mentoring role in his near future.

If he's the kind of guy we're turning to to lead the line next season (and yes, I know he's not), we're in trouble.

"Ohhh Lasogga!" (to the tune of "Que Sera Sera")

Ohhh Lasogga, Lasogga!
 He came from Germany!
He scores with head and knee,
He eats meat pies for free!
 Ohhh Lasogga, Lasogga!
He plays for Nix, you see!
 He’s better than Messi —
 With slightly less speed!

It is honestly astonishing how big Lasogga has become on the forum.

I feel nervous to say it, but for those that might be still unaware/the newer users, I was the one that originally mentioned Lasogga, I’m his agent lol.

It was my first post on the forum back in the 21/22 offseason, and was just supposed to be an innocent suggestion from a long time Phoenix fan (since 09/10) of someone who I thought could be a good replacement for Hooper, who obviously had left for the second time.

After the original post though, I would bring him up way too much and not stop going on about it.

In Welly for work and there's no NIX game... doesn't feel right. Hoping to spot Lasogga getting a feed and a Panhead down Cuba Street.
