I know he did pretty well when he had to step up last year, but I was nervous about him being our number 1.

Now I am a lot less nervous.

Im happy to take a point for the first away game.  Looked good in defence maybe we are lacking a little creativity but its early days.  Good start boys

But think we were about equal on really good chances. Easily could’ve nicked it. 

We need a little more going forward- maybe that’s going to be Supyk or Old. I’m not sure. 

I’ll worry a little when they’ve either got a winger or CF with a little more about them than we saw today. Still think our defensive flanks are our weak point and someone with just a little more pace or trickery could hurt us.

 kelly-Heald is a great young player. By the end of this season he'll be a first choice New Zealand International. 

we move onto the distance derby next week, where we get to welcome Sail home.

Wootton was so good today, you have to wonder how bad tactics/players have impacted his performances in the past

Solid start to the new era. Will absolutely take the point. Hopefully just setting the building blocks in place for a solid platform. Still not sure where the creativity comes from though.

I will take a clean sheet draw in 30 degree heat to start the season any day.
Was it pretty no is there plenty to work on yes,were there some good things yes along with some not so good.
Certainly not as dire as some are making out and I for one am looking forward to where they can take us.
As an aside bloody hell we have some negative sharks who claim to be Nix fans posting  across social media.

Well 0 goals conceded against MV away and WSW away.

For sure we'll concede but the opposition know that it'll take something pretty special to beat us.

only one of last years top 6 has had a win thus far.

I've complained about Kosta every week since he came back last season but he actually looked today like he has a bit of extra something about him from the few touches he got.

Some of the best defending I've seen in years. The urgency to get back and to get onto crosses before opponents was great to watch.

Chuffed with that, don't care if you think those happy with the result are accepting "low standards". Good first example of Italiano's gameplan in difficult circumstances

Personally very happy about that result, a point to start the season is never a bad outcome. Defense looked good, far batter than I thought it would.

It's a shame that that game itself was kind of boring. That's on WSW too though.

OK. In my opinion we're starting afresh with something that will be a lot better than we've previously had.
It won't be perfect to start with. But I think the end point is an NZ team that competes at the very top of the Australian League.
