Tempo lads, create some fudgeing tempo! We're like statues in that final ⅓ - Get that ball zipping about

Walker has been about our most creative outlet.

Just as I say that, KOSTA!

Payne did look off side. Glad VAR did not stuff us.

Remember the good old days when a goal was a goal? Jesus you can't even cheer any more without VAR ruining it out on a technicality. Thankfully all ok this time.

Was a nice free kick delivery from Ishige

Adjudged NOT to have interfered with the play

Calling 0-0 here.
For halftime, likely. Beyond that - nah.

I’m glad this prediction was bad

He's done very well so far on our set-pieces.

Excellent headed assist from Hughes that lead to that goal.

Needed that just to help build the confidence in front of goal for the season ahead.

He could only have interfered to put off his own team!

I don't recall many set peice goals last year (apart for the Surman goal/ own goal) - so great to get things started this way!

That said Payne should have kept himself onside, he’s looking straight down the line.

Ishige and Nagasawa (rather predictably) are oozing technical proficiency, their link up play with the likes of Rufer, Payne and Kosta is looking really slick. Walker certainly looks lively.

The only thing I'm worried about despite Chiefy holding us in his arms and telling us it'll all be okay, is that we're just too small up top (sorry Chief). Apart from that pretty happy.

Both keepers giving their fans the jitters. WUN have largely given up on the press and we are looking a lot better for it.

Getting a few ‘Asian’ and Phoenix calls. Imagine if Arzani had been that treatment from Thurgate!

We need that second goal to put this game to bed. We are certainly good enough

He's been really solid. He can be really pleased with that, a few good defensive actions and by no means stymied things when we've been breaking forward. Ka Pai Fin

My pre match prediction that Ibusuki would be a handful for the defence has proven to be completely incorrect. He's been anonymous so I'm not surprised they've subbed him off

Walker just took off like a rocket! Finally someone who floors the pedal and injects some pace into our attack. Too often we pass it backwards

Walker's done very well for a kid on debut but he's made wrong decisions that he will learn from going forward. Love to see a kid with speed pin his ears back and run at defences.

Great to see Bally back on in phoenix colours after those uncomfortable and fortunately baseless rumors in the off-season

Shame about the crowd. It's a mint day.

We have 6-7k rusted on fans. Nothing to draw the bandwagon fans in today. Hopefully they turn up for the Derby.

I'd have thought the AFC debut win, us coming second and a cracking day weather-wise and first game of the season would have brought in a great crowd.
Economy and all the attention going up north probably just means you're getting mainly the belted-ons coming for todays game but I reckon after the first derby the crowds will start to be a bit higher than average as people get a bit more behind the idea of an inter-city clash.
