I am sure Italiano knows more about the Ball situation than we do. But by not saying anything, he leaves some of us (well, me) with a sour taste thinking we could no worse than bringing Ball on halfway through second half last week (against Melbourne City B).
We keep saying City B , but a back line with Behich and Trewen and an experienced midfield, behind a bunch of young forwards keen to break through into professional football is still not a weak lineup by the standards of the league. And they’re second on the table.
Not to be pedantic, but they’d only be 6/7th if Phoenix had beaten them.
I want to see some football from the Nix with positive intent. Those old cliché's A week is a long time in sport Your only as good as your last game. Hopefully the football leads to a more positive forum this coming week.

Good luck with Piper, Al Taay, Retre, Sheridan and Kelly Heald all starting. I'd say the WeeNix would give this team a run for their money. The only one of these possibly starting for another A-League team (aside from Brisbane/Perth/Newcastle) is Retre.
Huge indictment for Nagasawa that he's on the bench with this sorry lot starting
I can't believe Piper is getting more game time. He must be the best trainer in the world because he genuinely looks like one of the worst players to ever put on a Nix shirt so far
Guess I was meaning it is good to see people like LKH and al-Taay come in, who were both decent last season. I'm sick of the sight of Walker and Nagasawa and LBSvaleo

At least the starting XI has been shaken up a bit. Piper up front somewhere?

It's been 'shaken up' because we have injuries
Both of these players aren't good enough, which is why they didn't play.
Also wondering what happened to Conchie who imo started much better this year than last year?
Nix fan since day 1, but I'm not sure that even I can take it if we start with a back 5, sit back, concede possession, and pass the ball sideways under a full court press from Adelaide.
Will try be optimistic, but looks like we are playing 5 at the back again.
Predicting an Adelaide win. Let's hope I'm proven wrong.

Much better second half from us, so frustrating how we conceded that second goal, Josh had collected the ball, Wootton got in his way, Josh dropped it, and it fell to Jovanovic.
Memo to Phoenix players....Could you please stop kicking the ball into your own net.....thanks Today was a better effort, against a good team. Ruined by an own goal and a goal from a keeper error. Its going to be a long season but hopefully some of the youngsters will develop.
