We’ve had 2 or 3 chances to clear before each of the first two goals. Almost like a fk where there was only a small gap to hit that their player vacated.
It's a shame we have this obviously classy new Portuguese signing and our finals chances are basically zero. Will probably show what an excellent player he is and get snapped up by one of the Sydney/Melb clubs in the off-season.
Tragic how the first half played out. Despite the lack of belief in the team with people saying it was inevitable to not get thrashed, we were totally in this game and even looked more dangerous if only in the first 10.
Despite Auckland looking really good, we haven't been dominated. We had a major unforced error from the goalkeeper (again) leading to an easy goal which destroyed our mentality and we conceded 2 more poor goals when Auckland smelled blood in the water.
Chance to recover the performance (probably not the game) this half, but a real shame losing so many point dues to unforced errors throughout the season.
We're being bested in every single area of the park. No doubt about that. However, no card given to Nando at 25min and VAR giving them the third goal cost us as well. As did Chief's choices. Start with your best XI. You've got Walker and Rufer on the bench. Start them and see how long they last but give yourself the best chance
Whatever happens from here it's great to see this talented young guy making an impact. Should be with the Nix for the next couple of years, so his development is going to be great to watch.
