Already dreading a scenario of us starting off the better team or at least being competitive before either AFC score from a set piece, we gift them an own goal or May opens the scoring with another long range screamer.
i suspect it will be the case we will just defend with 9 with Kosta alone at the front and eventually they will just nick a goal because we don't have the players for that strategy. Chief has persisted with that strategy every week and based on the line ups it's no different this week unfortunately.HattyCW

Jayden Smith (17 yr old CB) has been on the bench for months. He's not there, so yes I think that's a sign will be going 4-3-3 sometime 2nd half. It's actually quite an attacking subs bench. Hopefully Nix can makea contest of it.

This will be a good game you can tell already. Playing 4-3-3 (or 4-4-2 apparently) and having a real 10 makes us look like a much better, more dangerous team. Chico only getting started and Rufer isn't even on the pitch yet.
Loving the look of Chico. Classy but he's also getting stuck in very well. I'm concerned that we're easing off too much and inviting them in. Also, Kosta has had maybe one touch on the ball. We need to get him more involved. Same for Ishige

So Pijnaker gets away with a DOGSO, then drags back Kosta on a counter and doesn't get pinged for a second yellow let alone a foul... What's he got in the ref?
This played out to the letter exactly as I thought it would. You cannot and sit back and absorb the blows without the players with the ability to do it.
That's about the fourth time they've been able to have shot after shot within the penalty area... not exactly a shock that they score. We can't just expect to block everything.
Just hope we can get into HT only 1-0 down and have a rethink.
Imagine if we had competant referees - the a-leagues would be such a good product
As much as I don't like some of the officiating this season it's clearly a league wide police to let a lot go, that's been fairly consistent so far. We do a shark job of playing to that and instead look for fouls that aren't going to be given.

Rethink to what? Chiefy doesn’t have it in him. This is the way we play. Sit deep absorb pressure then counter..
