The worst thing I can say about this side, is like primary school there is actually players here who other team mates are reluctant to pass the ball.
Auckland will rise once more

We gotta protect Ishige too. They start throwing in cheap shots like that we’ve gotta let those players know they’re getting something back.

That Sail chap is large.
Not Nagasawa’s best game, but he’s been active in the last few minutes.

I've seen enough.
Walker 🔛 LBS
Conchie 🔛 LKH
GSR 🔛 Ishige
Don't get the point of playing LKH in the role he is, when there is an actual midfielder sitting right there in Conchie.
The other two changes are purely because what the fudge do we have to lose? GSR on for Ishige, with some pace and trickery to the fore, and Walker for LBS, who has tried hard but is just not getting much change out on the right.

It's extraordinary how poor we are in the first half of each and every game.

I wanna see Ishige deeper and on the ball every move. Then he can make a run from deep or move the ball around, make the crucial pass.
We’re missing Payne, but there’s no pace on the ball and every move is ponderous and telegraphed.
The ball can’t go too far ahead of Nagasawa. To feet for preference.
This Perth defense is good.
We need another plan other than Kosta. A larger 9.
Brooke-Smith has tried, but is getting shut down.

Is Conchie better? Why is KH being played ahead of him? Defense?
Can’t see the point in subbing Ishige. He’s been one of our successful creative outlets this season. As I keep saying I think he needs to sit a bit deeper, nearer Rufer. But maybe that can’t be with a back 4.
Maybe GSR for LBS? Is that better? We’ve had GSR on a few benches and not seen him. Why the last game of the season? Maybe switch Luke to the left?
The paucity of suggestions is our issue- not enough good players and we’re losing at least two of our better ones in the off season.

i reckon we're playing better than we have been. the key being a greater intent to keep the ball and build attackes.
we're not doing particularly well with the ball however. and it's very clear that we cannot defend. perth are easily getting their midfielders beyond ours and running at our three defenders (one is generally caught forward).
plus, i dont think perth are too concerned about having the ball, which may be distorting things
im not saying we're any good. but there are some decent signs.

Piper up top with Kosta in this half?
I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Hoe many shots on target tonight?
Zero, 0, nilch, nada

Two great one touch passes there, but unfortunately no Payne to add the next step.

Chiefy will tell us all after the match that Perth didn't create any significant chances

Is he really considering Piper as our 9 next season? Is that why he’s doing this?
Basically admitting we lack a big physical presence up top. Out of the box, but I like it.
Another piece of the puzzle to fix in the off season though. Nearly created something out of nothing for LBS too, who needed to hit first time.

Remember when he said we didn't need a replacement for Zawada? Aged well.
