I'm not sure if it was a great advert for any newcomers who saw a goal after 6 minutes then sat through another 88 minutes of pretty average stuff, followed by an opposition goal. Two people I know who have been to only one other game, left with half an hour to go.
Maybe the reason for a subdued zone perhaps?

i agree. it was a very frustrating and dull game.

i sit right at the top on the half way line and i can see everything that goes on

maybe because you lot sit in a corner, you can't see the game properly ??????????

that's the only thing i can think of as to why some say we played good.

I sat extremely high up with many beers poured down my throat. It wasn't on a corner, although the stadium is an oval

The second half was only poor because we let the Fury back into the match by defending so deep...when Ifill came off, the game change..... and was Muscat injured ? .... A SUB in the final minutes would have been the time to make it....wasting another minute

It was my first time heading across the cook straight to see the nix and i thought it was a good game, loved the chants in the fever zone. much better atmosphere than the rugby where they just sit and watch. couldn't believe they scored in the final minute. definitely makes me want to go watch them again though!

Glad you enjoyed it LG. The game was not as good as previous games at RoF and the atmosphere has been better. If you do manage to get to another one hopefully you'll be treated to a more flowing phoenix footy, a good win and the FZ whipping up the crowd.

Thanks for the encouragement, News...

Despite the early goal laying a platform for a win and goods service into the box,car eless play and poor finishing derailed Wellington Phoenix at the whistle.

Wellington Phoenix needs more Flashing Rear-End Devices! (True!)

Tbh, almost everything I was fuming about re the NQF game has been well and truly said here..

Loving"Fortress ROF" in Wellington, long may it last.

Compulsory, intensive "finishing" training required for the whole team, imo.
Clinical, controlled agressive finishing..."Dispose and despatch" from now on please, especially at home.

some elderly couple couple behind me in the YFZ asked me to sit down and shut up, cause they couldnt see "our robbie"
Eh? your kidding me, right?
I settled for "you dont know where you are, do you" , but can anyone tell me what the  appropriate feverish response should be?

You should have stood up, pointed and said "He's that bloke with the huge nose that's been marked out of the game by our Siggy and Durante..."

"I've just drank 45 beers, you know"

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Result aside how good was it to have a 3pm kick off. Weather was great, wasn't cold and it wasn't too late getting home!!

It was by far the most enjoyable Sunday game I have been to, well except for the last minute anyway

and if you "piss about " you can add another 30 seconds[ now 1 minute which may have won us the game] which refs won't usually add on. A sub in stoppage time slows the game down.....

I think adding time on for substitutions is up to 30 seconds. Actually, I usually get annoyed at refs not adding enough time on during injury time (probably because it's usually us needing to score!). I've seen us play at home a few times where the other team has wasted time / made substitutions and the time hasn't been added.

Yea, I've heard that before from reliable sources... but I'm certain a lot of refs don't actually add that much on. There's 6 substitutions in many games and there's often only 3 minutes added on at the end of the game - sometimes 4, but nowhere near enough to count for subs (6 subs = 3 minutes added obviously) and the injuries that have been had (in these cases there have been reasonable injury delays. It's honestly like they make it up sometimes. But does seem a bit stupid to add 30 seconds on for something that doesn't take 30 seconds a lot of the time (unless Diego is coming off in the first half, in which case they should add a minute or two).
