How much will the game cost this weekend? Tenner?

Haven’t seen anything, but I believe that is how much it cost last season. Doubt it’ll be any different.

Allegedly

Let's hope Erik Panzer is a hit after the article I've just read. The Team Welly enviroment will be quite a large step up from the 4th tier in Sweden where there are 6 regional leagues with 14 teams in each, competing at that level. & he has big shoes to fill in Bill Robertson not sure that piece from the press has done him any favours.

Would say it's far more likely that fourth-tier Sweden and Truro City are places below his ability, rather than at his ability.

would agree with that, remember seeing him as a 16 year old playing for Nelson Suburbs in the Mainland Premier League, and he always looked well beyond his years then

Cracker of a day at DF today. In the first 20 or so I thought ACFC were going to dominate and score 2 or 3. But from the moment they conceded, TW really stepped it up and played a very good game. I thought Kilkolly looked very promising: fast, tireless and very disciplined on defense. Shame he didn't do more going forward and missed a golden oppprtunity to score...but it is the first game of the season. New lad Panzer also looked very condifent and barely made a mistake all day, he got turned once but Basaj made a great save to spare him some blushes. Speaking of the keeper...wow I haven't seen him for a while and he has bulked out for sure...

Great game...I did wonder today if TW have less depth than last year overall...I guess only time will tell but that's a good start!!

Good summation this. Think Teedubs defended really well and looked to counter when the chance arose. ACFC lacked the killer pass and were uncharacteristically loose with a few passes in midfield which gave Teedubs a couple of chances.

Two questions...

1. Do Football Central sell replica TeeDubs shirts? Didn't have any cash on me yesterday and

2. I noticed Patrick Fleming is part of the coaching staff? Just curious why he isn't playing? Did he not recover from his nasty leg break?

He got old.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Wasn't he like 23 three or four years ago? So he gave up the game? Shame if that's the case, he had bags of talent!

Double leg break slowed him down.

Ask Ruffer - he has to sit down a lot in games now!

any reviews from Sunday’s game? Great result

I haven't got round to doing one yet as got heaps of other stuff to do

game started very typical Auckland City, total domination of possession and 1-0 up via Kris Bright after 20 minutes

TW's came back into it a bit and managed to get a goal back before half time - an OG by Dan Morgan

2nd half was a bit more even, for all the possession Auckland had they were missing someone like De Vries or Le'Alafa to break through  the TW defence, Tade tried but he always had 2 players on him when he got the ball.

Turning point was when Bilen went off injured, although only really a turning point as it allowed Hilliar to score  great header from a corner, which I doubt he would have if Bilen was still on, still it was a great goal. Joel Stevens finished the scoring in the 87th minute

TW deserved their win, had a plan and stuck to it the defence pushed up and pressured the ACFC forwards and didn't give them any space and performed their role excellently . Erik Panzer had a great debut and for me was the best player on the park.

He played MCL for Miramar. I can't remember him at all beyond that (I only saw a few Miramar games, tbf).

made 8 appearances for Mar MCL team. 5 for reserves and 2 for thirds and probably Cap 9 as well!

looked decent when I saw him, would expect him to be a squad player though

Yeah, although credit to Eastern Suburbs.  They were pretty good.  As you would expect from a side made up of nearly all ex-NZ youth players coached by a national youth coach they were well organised and as fit as possible and dominated the game from start to finish.

Team Wellington poor, certainly in the final third but Suburbs significantly better than last season based on that display, I thought they might struggle having lost all those goals Pasagic scored for them last season (may contain sarcasm).

I was expecting a little more up front but fair call, Easts will be there at the end I would guess. No Jacko either.....when does Fenton start with the team?

I actually thought the first suburbs gial came against the run of play, TW having had a great first 30' or so. Joel was running like a man possessed and the team was playing well other than not scoring. Then came the goal which changed things quite a lot. Also Bevin was very quiet today although he scored a lovely goal. Very impressed by Moses Dyer...he dominated in midfield, a very talented player indeed.
