This squad depth is amazing, look at our front 3 options during that game Martinelli, Gyokeres, Madueke started Trossard, Jesus, Saka subbed in for them Eze, Havertz, Nwaneri are another full option Dowman coming through as well
Awesome to see Odegaard coming into form the last couple of games. He's looking like he's back to his best again. Not good for Eze mind you, who I thought might be on the verge of becoming first choice in a number 10 type role a few weeks back.
I’m hoping Egypt beat Benin tomorrow. That puts Egypt into the quarterfinals of the African Cup of Nations which means Salah will miss the Arsenal game. I think Isak is out as well.

Surely he won't be ready in time regardless. Very short turn around.
Also Salah has been wank this season we might be better off with him on the field. More wary of Gakpo or Ekitike at this point.
I think it will be a very nervy game and I worry about the pressure. Has the feel of the Villa game at home a couple of seasons ago where Liverpool had lost the earlier game in the day and it felt like the title would virtually be in our hands with a win. We played really panicked like we knew how big it was and lost and the result ended up being the difference. It feels a huge game.
Heading to London start of Feb and trying to get tickets to the Chelsea League Cup semi and Sunderland league game - both at home. Anyone here with contacts or recommendations?
If the hospitality packages are out of budget then I would think your best chance would be via the NZ supporters club. Sign up if you're not already a member. https://arsenalnewzealand.co.nz/
Official supporters clubs get an allocation for each game so you'll need to apply that way.
Man City and Aston Villa have both had draws this morn... Opportunity to go 8 points clear tomorrow. But the pessimist in me is also happy knowing if we draw or lose it won't be too damaging!

Thanks mate. Not keen on the hospitality packages more out of experience than anything, I'll try the supporters club. Up the Arsenal
Let me know if you get anywhere, I’m targeting those games myself between Red membership and any left overs the Arsenal nz guys have.pride_of_london

Given I live in Putney, Fulham has become some what of a second team for me. Much more accessible for tickets and easier to take the kids - but obviously no where near as much invested as in the Arsenal. Watched the Chelsea game in a pub last night and it went metal when Fulham scored. Also nice to see Cucurella sent off given his never ending attacks on Saka’s Achilles.theprof
Finaly the little guys are helping us instead of taking piints from us. Thanks Palace and Brighton
Disappointing not to take advantage of other results and increase the lead. But we came into this round with a 6 point lead and still maintain that after a tough game against the defending champions so it's still not a bad week.
With Gyokeres up top, it's like we are playing with 10 men.
Teams have worked out his play and shut him down pretty well. Generally its fine cos it frees up our wingers. Liverpool defended well in the first half and dominated in the second. Not our best but still top with a two game buffer.

Is the Rocket pub still in Putney? I went there back in 2023 before the Fulham v Arsenal game where Trossard got three assists in the first half. I had to sit with the Fulham fans in the Hammersmith Road stand. Great little stadium though

What tickets does the NZ Arsenal membership have? When do they go on sale for Red members?
Remember when Arteta was in his earlier days as manager, and Lampard was managing Chelsea and Solsjkaer ManU, and there were debates about which young former player was going to make the best Manager. Nice to reflect sometimes.
There is a set number of tickets set aside for travelling Arsenal fans that the local fan clubs can apply for, including Arsenal NZ. DM me and I’ll get you the number for the organiser.
Red applications via ballot are coming up - dates are on the website.pride_of_london

Apologies for the spam but on Gyokeres I think even Henry would struggle with this system. We want an elite finisher on the end of the rare opportunities we create in the box (I only recall 2 yesterday not met by a Liverpool defender) and a false 9 in the build up. It’s a blend of Havertz/Merino and Gyokeres. Team has to evolve on this front.
Disappointing not getting the win but 6 points clear and the same GD as City is still a massive advantage. And no more games vs Liverpool is a relief. Barring injuries it feels like the mental side will be massive for the rest of the season. City don’t have that problem but we definitely do.
City should wipe the floor with United but it’s the derby and anything can happen.
I agree that Gyokeres is a great player and the issue seems to be more how the squad play. We need Havertz back. Apparently he’s not far off.
Good result today for us. Nervy start, but we got on top of things to create plenty of chances. Good to see plenty of rotation get us through. The magic of the cup gave us plenty to laugh at, mostly Sp*rs and United.
