McEachran, Bertrand, Mancienne and Cork all played for the Under 21s today. Speaking of which, is there a recall clause in Mancienne's contract. Need him right now.

Pretty sure you can only recall players in transfer windows, otherwise Cleverley would be back at United after Valencia got injured.

well im getting f**king annoyed at this.

how we didnt score is beyond me, we played enough football to deserve the 3 points, 32 shots and 16 corners. some insane saves from foster, the woodwork and some woeful finishing from us.

this game was different to the losses to pool and sunderland where we played like sh*t and deserved to lose. today we played pretty good and still lost, that worries me.

drogba looked lively in the first half, had a 1 on 1 saved, hit the post and foster made a miraculous save down low to keep out a header. kalou really should have scored a couple. missed an open net late in the game.

what is the point in ramires, he does nothing on attack or defence so largely just a waste of time,

Losing 5-1 @ Reebok is pretty sh!te I'll admit, but thrashing the Mackems 5-1 at this.place.for.sale.com@SJP is quite Oarsum.

How did your lot go against them again?

May as well of been the way he performed in the 2nd half.

Seems we're both trying to throw away a title challenge

Three for me, and two for them.

Seems whoever wins out of the current top 3 are bent on mediocrity.  Been some horrid displays from Arsenal and Chelsea.  United haven't lost but they've been woeful at times as well.

Newcastle game will be interesting - they can be quality or utter rubbish.

yea got zilina at home midweek, a draw will see us finish top of the group. then newcastle away next weekend. im not sure what to expect after they beat arsenal and lose 5-1 to bolton.

shal see how we get through zilina first before worrying about newcastle

Meh, two points off the lead just like we were last week.

I'm here to win a title, not take local bragging rights (which, to be fair, we've had for the last 20 years or so anyway).

I wonder if the sacking of Wilkins has had a bearing on recent results.
I hear he is considering legal action.

I think it is. I heard somewhere, from a mate, that Terry was striking out against his sacking. And other players could follow. Might be a bit far fetched but I do think it has affected them.

yea not alot has been said about his departure, it is very sad to let someone of his status within the club go but im guessing there is more to it that we havnt been made aware of yet. ive heard carlo was powerless to do anything. cant use it as an excuse for poor recent results, managers come and go all the time and its up to the players to perform on the pitch.

im really hoping we can regain some confidence in front of goal vs zilina and take that with us to newcastle

essien not playing vs zilina, sore toe

bruma and mceachran will both start. will be very interesting to see how they go. at the moment i would rather mceachran than ramires tbh

mikel looks like he will be on the bench so mceachran will play a holding role.

turnbull to start in goal

pretty stoked with that win, with not a full strength team it was relly good to get the win and qualify top of the group. good rest for some players and it means we can try a totally experimental team away vs marseille. will have to wait till i get home to see the game but from a quick look at the stats it shows we were pretty dominant with an awful lot of shots and a healthy amount of possession

now gota hope we can back this up with a good performance away to newcastle this weekend. really cant afford not to win this one

Newcastle game is on live this weekend 2:55am monday morning. cant wait.

we have had 60+ shots on the goal the last 2 games and only scored 2 goals. i think if we keep that attacking pressure up and be a bit more clinical with our finishing i can see us scoring a few more goals in the coming games.

we are top of the table and have won 5 from 5 in europe so things aren't too bad. im hoping the win vs zilina is what we needed to get out of our rut
