The league is getting pretty tight between 3rd (Spurs, 34) and us 29 points. Should be a few wins over the Christmas period, away vs Wigan. Home vs Blackburn (possibly a new manager by then) Home vs Newcastle. Anything less than....6 points would be disappointing.
The whispers seems to say that Suarez if found guilty is likely to get a ban? Bad news if so.

Imo opinion we should be aiming for 7 points against those teams, if not 9, because the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham should probably be racking up a few wins as well.
After Spurs this week Chelsea have Fulham, Villa and Wolves. Arsenal have Villa this week, then Wolves, QPR, and Fulham, so there is the possibility that they might not drop any points over the next few games either. I believe that after this week Tottenham have a reasonably easy draw for the next few games as well, so getting results will be crucial for Liverpool to stay in touch in the new year.
Of course, everything could change with the transfer window opening soon. I am hoping (optimistically I will admit) that the owners will give Kenny as much freedom as they have in the last two windows, in which case we could be looking at having a very solid squad by February. Fingers crossed!

What a f...ing joke.
Despite saying in their ruling that Suarez is not a racist , they ban him for 8 matches.Who gives a stuff about the money- club will probably pay the fine pending appeal anyway.
I look forward to the extensive fine and lengthy ban handed down to that bastion of racial harmony John Terry.
BTW Arsenal- oh , I can't be arsed.

LFC statement is worth a read for a laugh too:

Basically saying Suarez has black friends and therefore can't have said anything racist to Evra.

They missed the one where he did his acrobatic routine when tackled by Rodwell and got Rodwell sent off. The card was immediately rescinded after the game as NO contact was made.
The petulant little sh1t deserves everything he gets. And some.
Its no longer a problem.

Unfudging believable. Great statement from LFC, this ain't over by any means. Free Suarez.

got what he deserved. JT next on the FA's list for a mega ban
At the moment he deserves nothing. Let's wait for this miraculous evidence that the FA have stumbled across...

The one man who so far has been found twice by the FA to be unreliable in his two previous altercations:
FA: "We find Mr Evra's account exaggerated and unreliable."
Waiting to find out if Evra did indeed say the following:
To the Ref during the same match: "You only booked me because I'm black."
To Suarez (apparently admitted by Evra in his written statement): "Take your hands off me you South American."
There's also the 'context' of what was said of which there are only two witnesses so again it's one man's word against another.

according to one man he said it, that's enough for me...what reason would anyone have for making that sh*t up?
Are you f...ing joking or what?
Evra , with previous form for lying ( and generally just being a c**t) says something , has no evidence , no-one else heard it ( i.e completely one person's word against another's), and has a f...ing good motive ( gets Suarez a long ban) and it's good enough for you ???

Just beacause you believe him to be a c--t means zip to me. However, I agree with you. I don't believe that anyone can be found guilty on what has been presented so far. I think he probably did abuse Evra, but the whole thing is a joke.
If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Did he abuse Evra? Don't know
Could he have? Yes
Is there any substantial and incontrovertable evidence that says he did? No
On balance of facts , could he reasonably be banned? No
Would I change my mind about this if I knew with certainty that he did abuse Evra? Yes
I would suspect that this isn't over yet.

In terms of Suarez, we don't know all facts from the case and I think it's best to save judgement until(if) those are released.
But either way if Suarez is genuinely guilty or not, Evra is a ballbags

QFT. There's no saying what evidence was used and how they came to the conclusion that they did. I am personally making the assumption that if they are prepared now to suspend him with such a hefty fine and game ban, that they are confident in the decision they made. Only the media are portraying it as one mans word vs anothers - I am guessing the disciplinary panel used various other methods, such as viewing all camera angles available and most likely even went to the length of getting professional lip readers to view the footage.
He hasn't particularly helped himself either by having a sh*t track record.

Disappointed, in both the ban and IF it is true Suarez's conduct.
Personally I think everyone should reserve judgement till the true (as rafa would say) facts come out. I do find it hard to believe that the fa would charge suarez with that sort of fine and ban without more evidence than just evra's word.
Very, very interested to see how they go about the terry situation.
Surely we have to go for a striker in Jan now. But who? We need someone that could hit the ground running as we can't give them the time to adapt so I'm guessing it will be someone within the premier league? I really don't have any idea of who would be available thou......

The more I think about the more I realise that it's extremely unlikely that the ban will get any smaller on appeal. This has taken a long time to come out so it's not like they won't have considered all the facts. And even if the 'facts' are dubious, I think it's unlikely that the FA will back down as they seem to be making an example out of Suarez and will therefore do so even if we ask really nicely that the ban be reduced.
