f**k! I tend to be fairly optimistic about these things but imo any more points dropped like that and we can say goodbye to the Champions League. Six points off fourth is a stretch, but if it gets out to 9 I think we're in big trouble.

Grrrrr

Well , I've only just calmed down enough to think straight. That was complete and utter bollocks.Bolton wanted it more , were well up for it and thoroughly deserved their win.Well done Coyle- got it bang on today , even without Cahill.
Too many of our "players' had arguably their worst games of the season today.Johnson and Enrique were both poor , as was Skirts.Adam was generally anonymous and Gerro was well marked out of things. The back 4 had no cover in front of them-Boltons midfield just bossed things. Jeez , as if we need any more evidence how important Lucas was to us.
As for Carroll , what a performance. F..k me , he's a big unit  and should be monstering people in the penalty area. He mad a number of half hearted runs in the field of play and was very very easily knocked off the ball. Got no f...ing bottle that lad and the sooner he pisses off somewhere else the better. Not his fault we paid 35M for him but it is his fault he can't even be arsed trying.Lazy f...ing inbred.Piss off.

As for fourth , no chance. It takes a bit of guts sometimes and none of our shower ( except Bellers) showed any. We'll be lucky to finish top 10.

Would you be prepared to sell him for, say, 3.5 million?  I think we can straighten the lad out.

If he came back he'd start banging them in again. Clearly Merseyside is not too his liking.

I still haven't calmed down.

That was a monumental F-up.

Don't blame the players for being so happy on Lucas' return. Hurry it along Mr Leiva.

Beating Citeh this week will be absolutely critical. We need that Europa spot secured. I don't doubt that we're mathematically still in it for 4th but after a performance like that I hope we don't need any more 'wake up calls.'

Time for Kenny to stop relying on Adam so much. I'd like to see Shelvy have a run. Back 4 can stay the same. Bellamy must start every game he can. Not much else we can do at the moment - just sit back and wait for those transfers to come flooding in...

I would swap Jophnson for Kelly.

No Balotelli against Liverpool this week according to BBC? Unless he tries to appeal his charge

I'd start lucas this week, him on one leg would preform better than some of the players that played against bolton!

Agree with the kop need to beat city and get into the final and go to wembley to lift the mood around the club. I'm not feeling very good about it thou.

4th spot is gone burgers. No way we can get that spot when you look at the form of the other teams around us. 1 win in the last 6 games is simply not good enough to get into the top four and rightfully so. The football we have been playing has been absolute pants.

I wonder what Mr. Henry has been thinking of late?

Some classic Kenny:

If Man City have any players like Craig bellamy they don't want, I hope they have my number.

Reporter "what did you think of the penalty decision?"
Dalglish " what do you mean?"
Reporter " the hand ball"
Dalglish "exactly"

I have a question about the penalty we were awarded.

There are lots of people saying that it deflected off his foot, but why does that matter? I thought a handball was a handball, especially in the box. Sure maybe don't give him a card, but isn't it still a penalty? Seems to be like the recent 'but he got the ball' defence where a two-footed challenge is made.

A slightly unbiased answer (although I'm sure I'm posting in the wrong thread if I want a completely unbiased opinion ) would be appreciated.

Still stoked about today's win!

Reckon it was def a penalty. The hand blocked the delfection off his foot, which could of gone anywhere.

No card though, but has to be a pen...

Great win, but was not a penalty.

Why not? Genuine question, I always thought a handball in the box was always a penalty, except sometimes if a players arms are pinned to their sides or maybe to cover the 'boys'.

It hit his knee first, his head was turned away so he had no idea whehe the ball was.I guess it is a question of intent. I don't think there was any.In saying that, having seen all the replays, the ref was in a very good position,Leggy2012-01-26 19:12:35

But why should it be a question of intent? What if he is on the goal line and it's genuinely unintentional?

clear penalty in my opinion. his hands are up in the air and you put yourself at risk when you do something like that. same with their peno against us in the league. don't think skrtel touched yaya but when you're running across him like that you're putting yourself at risk.

but either way, we're going to Wembley  can't wipe the smile off my face at the moment!

Didn't think you had a neutral bone in your body!

Superb result, shows we can get up for the big games but still struggle for the "lesser" games. Frustrating. Very pleased none the less thou. The club really needed that.
