Think I was happier when gerrard slotted in that goal then I was with any xmas present I got. Stevie looked a class above anybody else on the pitch, carroll must be drooling at having consistant delivery like that

skirt's goal line clearance was amazing, turning point in the game. The game was looking like another draw until gerrard provided that little bit of something special in the final third that we have been lacking all season. Please stay fit!!!!

Good to see wilson going on loan to blackpool, he needs first team football he's become a bit of a forgotten man since coates arrived. Says something about Holloway as well that Kenny trusts him to send shelvey and wilson there in the same season.

And on a less trolling note, that goal line save from skrtel was phenomenal, one of the best I've seen

Ba's finish was perfect, you shoulda been 2-1 down, then up the other end and score and you're winning 2-1, that was a HUGE play from skeletor

Incorrect, if Ba's effort wasn't cleared off the line it would have been 2 - 2 not 2-1.

City scoreless in two games. Looks like the perfect time for Liverpool to take all three points against them on Wednesday

Awful starting XI. Never stood a chance.

My favourite bit was when Reina did the fail and dived over the ball, he tried to kick it into the back of the net in anger, and kicked it into the post and it bounced back and hit him. Sigh.

I let my guitar speak for me

From F365 mailbox

Pepe Reina handled Aguero's shot as well as Liverpool Football Club handles racism.

pity you drew MUFC in the Cup because their new signing Foy looks every bit as useful as Webb.

How's that for our next stretch of matches to 3rd March? Make or break stuff.

I would hope we field a strong lineup, and keep fingers crossed that City are a little more cautious given that Mancini still has the Premiership to worry about. Not that we don't, but realistically this is our best chance for a trophy this season.

Especially given that this could almost be like a final. Not to underestimate or disrespect Cardiff or Palace, but if we can win tomorrow/next week we are more than capable of winning the whole thing.

We're going to win the league.....We're going to win the league...CUp.

City are a different team without Yaya and Toure. Although Is uppose any team is different without their world class players duh.

Surprised to see us finish with 6 at the back!!

Get in !! 1-0 over City. Great result. Only saw end of 1st half and all of the 2nd, so don't know full story.(saw Gerrards goal though). Stevie once again oozed class today and had another nice penalty. Kelly was very lucky to get away with his backpass. Pepe was stunning, really making up for last weeks performance ! Carroll had a good chance when he turned Savic but Hart saved. Oh yeah I must say Savic is horribly sh*t. They really missed those few key players. Had a wee laugh in the last few minutes with 6 at the back !! Oh and anybody else see post match interviews ? Wow, Mancini quick to point out Johnsons tackle on Adam Johnson (I think) and how it was worse than Kompanys against United. Then Stevie says how he said it about Rooney as well and he always tries to get other players sent off ! But yeah Johnson could be quite lucky with that tackle and bring it on at Anfield in two weeks !!
