Our remaining run...surely we'd hope to get at least 16 points out of a possible 21

Toon (H) - win

Hull (A) - win

Baggies (A) - win

QPR (H) - win

Chelski (A) - loss

Palace (H) - draw

Stoke (A) - win

7 points behind City so that means we need them to drop points from the following fixtures...

Scum (A) - loss

Hammers (H) - draw

Villa (H) - win

Spurs (A) - loss

QPR (H) - win

Swans (A) - win

Saints (H) - draw

I could conceivable see them losing to Scum and Spurs (6 points dropped there) and maybe a draw or two vs Saints and Hammers?

My optimism is a little low at the moment but yep, possible. 4 wins on the trot now would certainly be nice!

Well we got the win against Blackburn. Now we're only one win away from that dream final..... with Reading ;)

There was a Twitter convo going on regarding us possibly seeing up to 16 players leave us this summer based on an article by one of the Anfield/Kop/Liverpool blogs. Any thoughts on this? Some of the players mentioned are:

  1. Coates
  2. Johnson
  3. Wisdom
  4. Borini
  5. Lambert
  6. Sterling
  7. Gerrard
  8. Aspas
  9. Flanagan
  10. Toure
  11. Lucas
  12. Balotelli
  13. Brad Jones
  14. Enrique

...and what of our kids out on loan? How many of them will still be with LFC or more importantly, in first team equation next season?

On Loan:

Coates - Sunderland season loan (4 app)

Ilori - Bordeaux season (11 app, 1 goal)

Dunn - Burton Albion month loan (0 appearances, 5 appearances for Cheltenham Town previously)

Wisdom - WBA season (22 appearances)

Sinclair - Wigan season (1 appearance)

Williams - Notts County season (3 appearances)

Jones - Accrington Stanley month (7 appearances, 1 goal - also 6 appearances for Cheltenham Town)

Ward - Morecambe month (4 appearances)

Teixeira - Brighton and Hove season (31 app, 6 goals)

Ojo - Wigan season (10 app)

Alberto - Malaga season (15 app, 2 goals)

Aspas - Sevilla season (12 app, 2 goals) *also 7 goals in 5 cup appearances

Lussey - Bolton season (no details)

Origi - Lille season (27 app, 7 goals)

Paez - Eibar season (0 app, also 8 app for Bologna)

Stewart - Burton Albion month (2 app, 1 goal also Cheltenham town 4 app, 1 goal)

  8. Aspas - see ya
  9. Flanagan - high hopes but too many injuries so young
  10. Toure - depth? Must be someone better...?
  11. Lucas - please keep!

A win this morning! Yessss!

Only 4 points behind Sharkty (5 really due to GD). Still a massive ask but think everyone outside of Oasis would have a right old laugh if we can do it.

  12. Balotelli - was worth a punt but see ya Adds nothing

They should take a punt. Our plan of "He looks good, better than him, let's buy him" should work wonders.

I'm close to turning in my LFC shirts and focussing on Dover Athletic.

Edit: Not really...I've endured 25 years of frustration, I can keep this up indefinitely .

I definitely think that you should keep him on but what do Liverpool fans think of Rodgers?

Big fan of Rodgers but getting frustrated by lack of progress so can only imagine what FSG are feeling...

On the one hand, 2nd last season and despite what people think, it wasn't ALL Suarez, remember that Studge was the second highest goalscorer, Sterling was red hot and Gerrard was having something of a resurgence so Rodgers did great things with that team (of course aided by no European football) and this season was a chance to cash in.

On the other hand, he had money to spend (yes, aware of the transfer committee) on footballers with the offer of CL football on the table, plenty of good youth players to add depth to the team for the cup comps (Ibe, Wisdom, Texieria, Illori etc) but he chose to loan them out and spend the cash on a mixture of back fill and one season wonders (Lallana, Lovren). It just hasn't worked and we have in fact regressed while other teams like Chelsea, Arsenal and United have improved.

With Klopp available, Liverpool is the perfect kind of club for him and FSG must surely be watching the situation. I would guarantee that not one of Rodgers pre-season goals and measures have been met and then it doesn;t come down to an emotional decision or one of 'give him time'. it simply becomes about under performance and poor execution of a plan...can we take another season of risk under Rodgers or get someone tried and tested (Benitez, Klopp)?

Have a link to the story?

Feel like this was held back by FSG as some good news if things went south.

Sorry boys, been away! Well work has now blocked the fever forum!! DOH.

So the whispers are that Liverpool will introduce a DOF to oversee the academy, transfers and whole club which will mean that Rodgers will have his wings clipped and have less of a say in transfers, contracts blah blah. The thoughts are that as he seems to have quite a big ego,  he wont want to stay around in the new capacity. Could be an interesting summer.....

What frustrates me is that he seems to have a nice plan (ie high pressing and fluid front three) then he sells players who fit that system and buys players that dont (Ballotelli etc). The main reason IMO that we have struggled is that the players havent fit the system. He has also wasted a lot of money and then not played players. We had money after the Suarez sale but blew it.

I was in the middle of writing 'my work has blocked it as well' when I remembered that we work at the same place! It's because of the TAB banner at the top of the page. You'll find that it temporarily unblocks sometimes, when the weekend's premier league games are over but the next weekend's odds aren't out yet. So make sure you get your Monday morning fever time in!

Classic example is Markovic - started to show signs of finding his feet, got a BS red card and then ahrdly played since. Not sure what BR is playing at with some of these lads.

22 shots and possession off the charts. No quality in the final 3rd & too slow on both the counter and pressuring from the front (keys to our form last season). Rodgers should be a nervous man right now.
