Yay, finally! Still seems like crazy money for a CB but we're certainly desperate.

Pretty handy win yesterday too! Coutinho was unplayable at times. The club should give him absolutely anything to stay!

All football money is stupid money these days. Just enjoy the circus!

Still a better deal than Lukaku and  Pogba

If that's what it takes to get someone who can anticipate at the back rather than just react (lovren, moreno) then so be it!

Roll on 2018!

I do think the keeper position goes a long way to making an average defence or defender a good/great one.

One thing I notice about Mingolet and Karius is their lack of talk - they gob off after the fact or when setting a wall but very rarely inthe build up to a goal.

I was always trained as a keeper that the position I was in had the luxury of being the only player on my side who could see the whole game and every player on both sides - but because of that, I had to be constantly talking, watching - kind of like looking two/three cars ahead when you drive. Anticipating overlaps, movements and making sure some players stay back OR cover when someone bombs forward.

We need a general in goal - the magic of a top keeper isn't just the the shots he stops, it's the shots he prevents getting taken.

I’m hoping that VVD brings some leadership to the back....well the whole team. Hopefully installing some confidence in our keeper. I reckon the insecurity between the two is insi

I'd suggest that by the start of next season, VvD may have the captaincy

Salah! You absolutely magnificent goal-scoring machine!

31 Dec 01:52

Poor screenshot, but that's the Nike shop announcing Barcelona hear for Coutinho. So unless someone is having a last day of work troll...

31 Dec 02:36

That''s pretty fudgeing moronic from Nike if true. And shark for us.

Reminds me of our press release when we signed WeeMac.

Ha yeah was gonna say A-league-esque. I didn't because too many hyphens.

Good result this morning , a bit rough but We'll take it.

A few questions-1. Is Hendo worth his spot in the side? 2. After 200 games , Mignolet still not convincing as no.1 Karius neither. So time to see what Danny Ward can offer? 3. I'm really interested to see with Klopp does with potential loan outs. A few young guys on the fringes who either need to make the break through or move on. I'm thinking Ryan Kent, Brannagan, Woodburn, Harry Wilson. Funny how few of them seem to be able to make the first team on a regular basis. Woodburn must surely need first team time somewhere? And what has happened to Grujic- really hasn't kicked on at all.

VVD  is a good signing but unless Klopp sorts out midfield cover , he'll be exposed like Lovren was. I'd like a   Mascherano- type player patrolling just in from of the of the back 4. That and a dominant keeper- we'd be a bloody hard side to stop given how the Fab 4 are going ( finally).

Happy New Year chaps. YNWA

well great to get an ugly win...have we seen the last of Coutinho?

02 Jan 04:26

FA Cup vs bitters Saturday 8:55 am; no sign of it on the Sky guide at this point. Who do we have to poke in the eye to get this televised?

Done deal.

Barcelona have put together a package worth a basic fee of £106m, plus a further £36m in variables, of which £26m should be easily met. After the £105m basic, an additional £17m would be payable for the first 100 games Coutinho plays for Barcelona, £4.4m per 25 games. A further £4.4m would be paid for Champions League qualification in the first two seasons with a £4.4m bonus for winning the competition.

struggling to see how selling Coutinho is a positive thing.

E's Flat Ah's Flat Too

06 Jan 22:38

It''s not at all! Severely weakens the team with the top 4 battle and Champions League knockout games to come. Was really hoping he'd see out the season but sounds like there was no chance. Hope Klopp can ensure it doesn't damage the squads mentality too badly, gotta be a big slap when the star player leaves.

Early rumours that Mahrez is to undergo a medical ahead of a £49m transfer.

10 Jan 20:12

Some rumours...thesre are mostly regurgitated from Macca Rumours, Twitter and the like...

  • Mahrez was set to go ahead, was even house hunting in Liverpool and then things changed and got canned at the last minute
  • Can looks more and more likely to sign a new LFC contract
  • Liverpool are after a player that has not been mentioned in any rumours as of yet. The leak that used to exist within the walls of LFC appears to have been silenced.
  • Goretzka has offers from Bayern and Liverpool and is stalling on a decision
  • Monaco could let Lemar go this January for as little as 60m

"...sure beats doin' stuff."

10 Jan 21:40

Oh I haven't heard the Can rumour! That surprises me. I really can't see Mahrez coming.

I am hoping for a Coutinho replacement this window. Seems likely if you believe the rumours.

12 Jan 02:25

Macca rumour popped up last night...not sure what to make of it. The club are chasing a top top level player?

Griezmann runours have popped up since that comment. 100m euro release clause - wouldn't be a bad purchase given the Coutinho money we have but can't see it happening. Probably his agent looking to spur United into action.

12 Jan 05:06

What do you guys think about signing Keita early for an extra £13m? I'm thinking go for it! Get him in and settled early, he'll be super valuable late in the season in the top 4 fight.

Also, here's Carra destroying Phil Neville on twitter......

12 Jan 22:54

Yeah I reckon bring in Keita early, rumours today making it sound like that could happen in the next couple of days.

Great day!

LFC keeping Arsenal as the Invincibles in return for a great signing in Ox!

Ha yeah classic late jitters! Gomez was a bit naive for their first, should've just backed off. Gotta think VVD would have been a bit smarter to prevent the third but big cup of meh anyway, great win!!!

15 Jan 01:09

Almost every shot Karius is already jumping when the ball is struck. It was most obvious for Sane's first goal, Karius is completely off the ground when Sane strikes the ball. How are you supposed to react if you're in the air?

Good win, fantastic game. Great to see a team just take it to City even if it had to be you plonkers.

Robertson and Ox were immense

Could only watch extended highlights as I'm away but yeah that seems to be the media consensus and is really good to hear! Hopefully Robertson is now the number 1 LB regardless of Moreno having the occasional good game.

Our keepers are terrible - actual ability aside, they just don't command their defence. A great keeper is judged not only on shots they stop, but also shots they stop being taken.

See Mignolet is upset about being benched too....Alledgedly.
