well i think you guys have done well - especially if adam comes through...

Torres out

Adams, Suarez, Carroll in

very good in my opinion

Carroll's not worth 35mil on the field but he is worth that off it. English strikers bring in the big bucks when it comes to merchandise and promotional work, and NESV/Commoli/Dalglish obviously realise that.

               Reina
Kelly-Agger-Skrtel-Johnson
  Gerrard-Adam-Meireles
    Kuyt-Carroll-Suarez

Maybe too attacking, and not sure kenny's a fan of the 4-3-3, but on paper that lineup looks pretty hot to me.

I think you fellas are on the way back

No worries. He's an over rated fat git with a shonky knee. He'll only play 6 games a season. Enjoy.

well he had a knack of scoring against us so hopefully he will return the favour. good thing its at the bridge or that may have been a hostile reception at anfield

So was handing in a transfer request a couple of days out from the end of a January window. I'm just disappointed with the way he did it that's all. Handing your slip in on Jan 1 we could have all understood it. I would like to hear his version of events if he can find the fortitude to give it.

Further details on the Torres contract with Europa League side Chelsea:

fee approx 45 million
weekly pay 150-170K
John Terry to stay at least 100metres away form his missus at all times

35 million for Carroll- OMG

Would love to see Adam - looks like Blackpool are holding our for 14mil.I guess when Rangers get their 10%, Holloway gets his 10-20% , then not much left out of 4-8mil. I had hopes we'd get him when the Tangerines got Andy Reid but seems not . Bugger

I thought Europa League side Chelsea placed the bid and then Torres handed in the request... the bid got him thinking?

Maybe he doesn't like Kenny?

With the Adam move over that's probably it for us. What a crazy 48hrs.

Torres has gone. Suarez and Carroll arrive. Transfer spending is back to breaking even so it should mean a good summer of attracting targets. Well done to Kenny and Comolli (and FSG) for showing some intent and making moves - particularly after being dropped the F-Bomb. Shame the Adam deal fell over but it sounds like Kenny worked pretty hard on that one.

Agree with that.I can see why he would want to go.
Just the timing.
I actually felt worse when Smeltz went.

Nah, there's heaps more to this story. Nando tried to do a deal last summer but was convinced to stay to help sell the club to the 'prospective' Chinese owners.
After the Fulham game, Nando was given permission to fly to Spain for a break. He let his agents know he wanted to move to Europa League side Chelsea. Agents advise Europa League side Chelsea that Nando is ready. Europa League side Chelsea make a bid which was rejected. Nando hands in his slip...

Just had a phone call from my little boy , in tears , "just to let you know Dad , Torres has gone to Europa League side Chelsea. But I've looked at Suarez on you tube and he's quite good"
For Xmas just gone , all he wanted was a Perennial strugglers Liverpool shirt with Torres' name on it.Wouldn't take it off for 2 weeks. Now he probably won't want to wear it , we'll see.
Still not convinced about Carroll ;  I was daydreaming about Suarez/Forlan there for a while. Still, he may be OK so judgement withheld for the moment.

DONE DEAL: The first of our golden trio is done, people. Perennial strugglers Liverpool have confirmed that Andy Carroll has signed for the club from Newcastle on a five-and-a-half-year deal for a club-record fee reported to be 35m

Only a couple of months ago I nearly ordered my Torres shirt, decided to hold off for a bit but I'm glad I didn't. I feel sorry for the kids who are the real losers in all this.

I wear Gerrard on my back but I don't think I'll ever get another name. Maybe previous legends only; Dalglish, Barnes etc..

You talk sense. For me it's about the club not the player.
Never was one for getting a name on a shirt.
