Keen to see Suarez though! How long is Carroll out for btw?

You really are a low life.
cry mea river. joning a 'big club' now, eh Fernando? fking good fr you, you prick,.

What's the problem with him saying he joined a big club?  Historically Perennial strugglers Liverpool are a bigger club than Europa League side Chelsea but over the last decade Europa League side Chelsea are far bigger.

Morning fellas, I'm feeling good today. Torres has gone and i'm now (somewhat) strangely not fussed. He's made his decision and he's the one that has to live with it not us. We're moving forwards with Suarez and Carroll. Time to Walk On!

Good write up here that sums up a bit of what I'm feeling:

http://es.pn/gCQbMp

Sounds like Carrolls out for a couple of weeks but Suarez might be ok for Stoke. He's been to Ireland and back to complete his work visa (had to leave the country or something weird like that) so hopefully he's ready to go.

Uh, sorry about that

Yes! Thats how I feel now as well. Nothing we can do if he wants to go and at least we aren't being bitches and bending over backwards for him. Just 'Fine, see you later, mate'. Getting excited to see Suarez and Carroll. Man, I love new signings (that are better than the standard of Poulsen and The Konch, anyways". Hopefully they can work out...

I'm with the Kop on this.
Although I'm still pissed at Torres for his after move comments ; the fact is that near 50M for a 26 year old with one good leg is till good business. He's been woeful all year( bar that game against the CHelski scum); that's looking more and more to me like a job interview. He's not put in a shift most of the year  , sulked like a spoilt kid so f..k off.
He ( was ) one of the most instinctive goal scorers I've ever seen ( other than God) and I really enjoyed watching him. But I was a fan before he came along and I'll be a fan  for a long time after he's finishing his career in the MLS.
Henry and Warner have made it clear than their transfer policy is targeting younger players with a " value for money" approach. I am not yet convinced that Carroll at 35M is VFM but I'm open minded enough to wait and see. He might be a douche bag ; equally , Kenny and Gerrard might be the right people to sort him out. THe prospect of a Suarez running off Carroll is quite exciting if it works.
If we go after Adam in the summer , imagine the propsect of S and C having passes threaded to them inch perfect....
This will also be interesting to see how Gerrard goes. He's always been great when he's got blinding pace in front of him ( Owen , Torres). He may have to change his play now.
Interesting times. My little boy now wants  a Suarez shirt

From the BBC.

Europa League side Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti, meanwhile, has confirmed that new signing Fernando Torres WILL make his debut against Perennial strugglers Liverpool on Sunday, provided he is fit. "We will test tomorrow and the next day. If he has no problem, he will play against Perennial strugglers Liverpool."

Looking forward to this.

Completely forgot. Had a thought last night... We sold both Torres and Babel for approx $55m. We paid good money for Suarez and very good money for Carroll. Net spend: $1.8mish

Why did we only end up bidding $6.3m for Adam?? Along with Suarez he was one of our top targets. If we really wanted him we could have gone to $10m. I'm not sure we'll go after him in the summer now. We've virtually spent nothing and I wonder if we have bigger fish to fry in the midfield come July? Same would apply for Ashley Young, we made one bid and that was it. Were they short term, stop gap transfers?

Just a thought.

Its definitely a shame it didn't worked out for me and the club, but that's how it is sometimes..

I was blessed to work with one of the greatest football players and I learned a lot

I learn to love the lfc way, the city, the people and I made lots of friends in Perennial strugglers Liverpool

There is no other club then Perennial strugglers Liverpool with the anthem " YNWA " !!! #Beautiful

To all at LFC come on you mighty Reds, good luck and get 4th place and back into the CL! I love you!

Fair to say, after all the highs and lows we went through with Babs his legacy will now out shine 'The Kids'. How the mighty fall.

Hadn't seen that- that's a very classy move by Babel. It's a shame it didn't work out for him-very very talented player. But a very cool leaving message. Much of the traitorres angst may have been avoided if he'd had the class to do something similar. In the Doom post this morning is a full page photo of Torres- it's now on the lunchroom wall with a few additions

I did read that we offered $10mil for Adam but the Tangerines were holding out for 14.Later on though I saw that Spurs went in at a lot lower and were sure they'd got him.SO unclear.Don't mind not getting Young though.Sure he's quick but he doesn't really spin my wheels.I tend to agree they may have been stopgap measures for the right price- Henry et al may have made the right call that this is the limit for "stop gap"; big biccies in the off season ( dare we hope?)

Can't wait til Sunday.

Was sent a link, thought it was funny and posted it. I don't buy or read the 'newspaper' concerned and wasn't suggesting anyone else does so. However, I've now deleted the post.Jag2011-02-02 19:52:44

Thanks for that. It's not about 'reading' the newspaper it's about what the s*n represents and it's stance on Liverp00l and it's fans in association with Hillsborough. The link I posted explains it all.

Apologies if we came across rude but we despise that paper.

Any thoughts on Shelvey , anyone?I know he's thought to be promising but hasn't convinced me yet.Kenny must rate the kid a bit- he's getting some time. Now for some Pacheco time...

He looks like a Bond villain, and could probably take an eye out with his nose, but I think he has some potential. He was very unlucky not to get on the score sheet against Wolves and I think this extended run of cameos is valuable in developing him.

Obviously I would love to see Pacheco play as well but I think he would only come on in a situation where we are comfortable, as he's a creative player and a lot more pressure would be on him to make a big difference than someone like Shelvey who is one of three midfielders who's task is mainly retaining possession and breaking up play. Jonjo is a class player and I'm not trying to imply he's worse than Pacheco because he has two others who can take some of his extra burden, but I can definitely understand why he and Spearing are getting more game time.

But still, tomorrow will be a big test for him if he gets on the pitch, Stoke will be very compact and very physical and will be a big challenge for a young player, but he has handled himself confidently so far so would love to see him get another chance!

...just my two cents

Absolutely despised by 'Pool fans, every aspect of it. Genereally considered nonsense when they have an 'exclusive' with one of our players- as the players pretty much never talk to them. Utter scum. Thanks for how well that was all dealt with too, well in on both parts

Agreed regarding his time vs Pacheco's time. Hopefully we can be comfortable tomorrow and give Dani a bit of a run out. I don't think he's done much when he comes on... yet. But his confidence must be growing and he'll be learning heaps from it all, so I think there is plenty of potential in there, and half an hour run arounds will certainly not damage that.

I do rate Spearing ; I would love to see more of him.
I agree about Pacheco- not a whole game player yet but damn he's got game!
I wasn't suggesting that Shelvey isn't a good player or worse than Pacheco-they have vastly different roles. I did see a bit of Jonjo at Charlton and he is very promising.Work in progress I think.
On a promising note , with all the crap about El Ninny , I'd lost sight of the fact that we have some very promising youngsters.Shelvey , Pacheco , Spearing , Susa , Kelly , Stirling , Ecclestone..some won't make it but some will- Kenny does seem willing to give youth a chance.Oh , add Carroll to that list.

Re s*n: Players are advised upon joining the club to never speak to the s*n. It's part of their media policy.

Re Shelvey: I think the kid has the goods but he's still very young. The fact that Kenny has used him a bit already shows that he sees something too.

Re Suso: He's our number 35 now!

Re Team line up: ?? Aurelio in midfield? Can't wait to see Suarez get a run. YNWA!
