Read an article about Lucas being the next 'Pool captain. Kenny has talked about him as a Dunga-like player, he captained in pre-season and was captain of Brazil U20 too.

Leads me to think he could captain Brazil as well.

The King has been crowned!!! 3yr deal with Steve Clarke. Partay!!
almost 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
But was any other outcome seriously viable?? Henry et al don't seem to be morons.
Almost as important to me-Steve Clarke has a 3 year deal .
I'm SO looking forward to next year ; I'm almost over the pounding we took at indoor last night!!

This is just like the good old days (before you guys departed the top four), where every season was going to be yours to lose. Until the season actually kicked off.

Have a 2 week old baby so I was up! Watched twitter go into meltdown when it was announced, I had the good fortune to login a couple of minutes before hand.

Good news coming out of the LFC awards dinner that's just ended. Reina player of year (2010) Dirk 2nd, Lucas 3rd.

Pepe told everyone at the dinner that he was looking forward to next season in the Red shirt! Apparently Comolli also said that Pepe had met with him to confirm his long term plans to stay with the club. YNWA

Great news!!!! We love you pepe

Massive congrats on the baby too

Cheers mate!

What a 24hr period of news and rumours...

Young deal agreed, up to player to agree personal terms now.

And Marko Marin being chased from Werder Bremen along with Shane Long from Reading (which is a bit odd)

Could be in for quite a ride this window.

Great great news. Truly well deserved and just what the club needed!

This is the liverpool forum not the arsenal one mate. Feel free to discuss your own team in your own forum.

Long live The King! Brilliant news, absolutely made up! No less than he deserved but as was said earlier, was it ever in doubt?! Him and Clarke (yays, 3 years from him too) have done extremely well, and cannot wait for next season.

Not a big fan of Marin on the few occassions that I have seen him, but that hasn't been massive amounts, tbf to the lad.

Good news about Pepe, but Lucas has been my player of the year! Nice to hear the King mention we need a song for Lucas too. Defo has the makings of a future captain. Fantastic attitude, great for the younger players as he really encourages them, and even Stevie recognises how good he has been.

Happy days

No, Petone. No idea what team or grade-a friend of mine runs a team ( has done so for a few years) and my work schedule allowed me to play this year. Haven't got a clue what grade or team - he says something about top grade; apparently we dropped from 1st to 3rd after Thursday's result but no idea really. I just turn up when he says and try not to make an absolute tit of myself.

After the way Blackburn handed the title to the scum on a plate, without putting up a fight at the finish, I hope they get relegated now.

What a load of bollocks. Considering the posession Utd had, Blackburn could not do a lot more. Sure they could have pressed on upfield and got hammered 5/6 nil. They did what any team would have done in the same position. They needed a point and they got it. They won't get relegated(I hope).
You are just a sore loser and if you think the King will take you back to glory(without spending heaps) you are dreaming.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

^Who said The King ain't spending heaps?

I'm over the whole #19 thang. We'll just have to kick their arse to #20.

They needed a point and they got it.

No!! They needed three points and didn't try to get them; so deserve to be relegated.

These are the Blackburn managers comments.
' I'm disappointed because we scored first and we could have gone 2 up but Martin Olsson's header hit the post.It was a fantastic effort from all the players. United came for a point, they sat back and did not come at us.It did not suit us really.
We've got toughness and togetherness and they stuck to the plan very well, we just had to get that second goal.
I think the last ten minutes played out was a little bit frustrating because Utd were doing what they had to do.
That meant we were left with a bit of a dilemma, if we had gone and pressed they had left four players up top,if they smash it up to the front four and they go and score then it would have been a bitter pill to swallow.'

To say they did not try to get three points is bullsh*t.
United had 73% possession. How can you score if you dont't have the ball.I agree with him that Utd came for a point, and in the end were a bit lucky to get it, but to bag Blackburn is unfair. Why should you care, if Utd had lost they would have got the title anyway(I'm sure) as they wouuld have beaten Blackpool at home.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

It's because we all hate united.

Also, how ridiculous is it that Arse vs. Villa takes higher billing then Us vs. Spurs in what will effectively decide 5th place? Bloody sky don't know what they're doing.

I don't understand why Sky does not have the same teco as the aussies have. These games are on at the same time, Arsenal,Wigan,Birmingham and Liverpool. All we have to do is push the red button and we can watch the match of our choice, and keep flicking over if we want. I agree, I would be annoyed if I had to watch Arsenal.

Are you taking the piss? The scum needed 1 point in the last two games. Shouldn't you be annoyed that we played so crap at the start, under Woy. Or even at the way Chelski let the Mancs run over them in the match prior. Or even the Gooners for falling away... but anyway...

Big game tonight, got to forget about all the guff of today. Sort out this season and then get the signing we need in the summer and have a real crack next year. Heard the same names thrown around Downing, Ashley Young and a few new names Jesus Navas and Juan Mata.

Reckon most pressing need is a left back and a striker. But I said this last off-season too, and I am hearing good things about Jack Robinson and also rumours of Gael Clichy leaving for us, 'cause his contract is up in 12months and Arsenal will want to bring through Kieran Gibbs.

They tend to favour 'big four' matches over mid table scraps. Still, the system is pretty outdated and the Aussie Foxtel system well overdue.

To be fair, we can't really complain. Not after the start we had - Any angst should be directed at the texan muppets who killed us from within...

Looking forward to having a fit Carroll next year. I didn't realise that the game wasnt live so I checked the net at HT and saw that we lost 2-0. Got up at 5 for nothing!

Buggery bollocks
Lost a bet on that one and my mate can both eat and drink to legendary standards. Still , fair do- a bet's a bet.
Having just seen the game , one question- when did that prick Peter O'Leary get an EPL gig??  Dunno what you were thinking when you gave that pen , nor do I know what you were thinking with- not the big head ,anyway.
Still , half way through the season there was no way I thought I'd be here bitching about missing out on 5th so I'll take it.
Still really looking forward to next year ; love the football we've been playing and some of the names mooted as transfer targets ( not all) are quite tasty.
In Kenny We Trust.

Spearing got found out a bit today but they were a very organised Spurs side. Modric was fantastic, and has been brilliant all season. Dawson is an absolute tool, but played well today. Just really unlucky overall, in my opinion. We started slowly and fell behind to a deflection and then howard Webb made an absolutely ridiculous decision.

Flanno MOTM.

I'm a lot calmer now than I was this morning, but it does show the owners we need better players than Cole and Ngog. Agree we missed Raul.

Suarez is just brilliant. That is all.

Yup, defo. Great come back from the lads, and its a shame they just couldn't finish what would have been a remarkable turnaround! But really excited for next season, can't wait

f**k off Leggy, we have The King and I'm not entirely sober, but we will win the title in the next three years. And even if we don't, I'm so f**king proud to support this football club once again.

Missing Europa (assuming we will) is a positive for me. It is a sh*t competition but still demands a lot of the players with regard to backing up for weekend fixtures. Okay, we'll lose revenue and yes, potentially revenue we would of spent in the market but having only domestic competition to focus on next season is going to massively improve our chance of returning to the Champions League and that is all that matters. It's all very well to say "we will definitely be top 4 next year" but the reality is we are still competing against the likes of that Scottish c**t and City/Chelsea who will no doubt be spending obscene amounts of money again.

CL is where the money is, CL is where the great players are, CL is where Premiership winning clubs play.

Excuse the rant, this is why I rarely post

Think its as much to do with the allure of having  European football vs none. And don't think anybody here is thinking we will defo get top four- far from it! Still a lot of work to do to even get back there.
