The Mirror report, Liverpool have made a formal approach for Eden Hazard!!

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Liverpool-have-made-a-formal-approach-for-20m-rated-Lille-midfield-starlet-Eden-Hazard-who-is-also-target-for-Arsenal-Chelsea-Real-Madrid-article737374.html

Would be a amazing signing, very interested in this rumour.

Hazard looks the goods, I'd like him at Arsenal. Although probably not a key area to strengthen tbf.

Does anyone follow 'the fields of anfield road' on Facebook? They seem to have info that Young and Scott Parker have been confirmed. They alsoa gree on the Hazard bid. Not sure but it's worth a look

Had a quick look at that page, they also have Juan Mata confirmed as a signing too. That would be a very good signing, he is kind of David Silva 2.0

All done and dusted aye. What a season...

Not upset about missing Europa, good chance to focus on the league. Pick up 3 or 4 good signings to help push on and make a good run for top 4 next season. I get the feeling this transfer window is going to get quite nutty, more so than normal as we're actually after some decent players and have some cash to splash.

Agree re Europe- not fussed. But there is clearly work to be done on the squad , some hard decisions to be made about players both young and old.
Still , I'm already looking forward to next season; the off will be fascinating. We might be in the market for some decent players.

 quality.

Well, to get to where we did in the end is a real credit to Kenny and the team, so hopefully we can get a few signings in, Carroll, Agger, Stevie etc can get a rest over the break and come back fresh and raring to go. Can't wait until next season.

Also, great to see Stevie in with the away fans!

Alright lads....chopping block....who goes?

Jovanovic, Degen, Konchesky, Poulsen are given.

What about Ngog, Aquaman, The Greek and Joe Cole?

Funnily enough , I'd keep the Greek as a squad player. Yes , he's limited and has the turning circle of an aircraft carrier. But  . I've seen games this season where he was one of the few who put in a shift.Good attitude. If someone better comes along then fine , get rid but I think he's a good squad player who can do a job.
As for the rest , they can all f..k off. I've never rated Cole , Ngog just isn't good enough and the Aquaman doesn't want to come back.Shame , he's had a stellar year for Juve but one unhappy player could lead to real problems IMO.
Agree on all the others though.
almost 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
My guess is aqua will be sold for a cut price deal to another club in italy not Juve since they have been trying to get his price down ever since they got him on loan.

Cole will go back to a club in london........fulham?

ngog like jazz said not good enough and taking up space in the squad possibly blocking other younger talent coming thru.

The greek can do a good job but he can be found out sometimes if there are a couple injuries and he has to play in big games. Really wish agger could stay fit as I love the way he always tries to play football from the back!
almost 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
I'm unsure on Cole...I wonder if he could still be a good player for us. HE started off badly with injury and suspension but I still rate him. Supposedly he earns big bucks too so would have to take a pay cut if he went to another club...or we would have to pay him out
almost 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Agree, I like Soto as a back up. Maybe Kelly could step into fourth choice centre back, but Kyrgiakos has a great attitude, an experienced head, and can be an absolute beast. So don't see the point in getting rid unless we have a replacement. We probably need another ball-playing centre back though, given Agger can't stay fit at all.

I'd get rid of Cole, Poulsen, Konchesky, Ngog and Jova. Its important that we actually buy some decent players for the squad though.

I wish we could keep Aquilani, but I just can't see it happening.
almost 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Out:
Jova
Cole (or take a drastic cut in wages and stay as squad player)
Aqua (Unless he wants to stay)
Ngog
Degen
The Greek
Agger (Due to injury. If we get a good offer take it)
Konch
Poulsen

In:
Adam
Enrique or Cahill (depends on price)
Freidel! Could only be as backup + coach role
Marko Marin (interesting prospect, similar to Aqua or more a wide man?)
Insua to return?
Benzema
Young? Sounds like a glory hunter to me. Off to the mancs?

Kenny's comments are a clue, "If we bring anyone in they have to be better that what we've got". "They have to want to come to LFC."
almost 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Oh yeah, Insua.. Can't see him staying either, which is a real shame.

Dunno about Adam.Could we do better? Good player , but good enough?
Benzema is a bit like me in my young pub days-too many shots taken without scoring.
Lots of buzz around Eden Hazard- interesting.
Look for a bit more Stirling this year too ( I hope) . Not yet physically ready for lots of first team time but he might be a bit more involved. Same goes for Connor Coady as well.

Word on the street is that he loves his pies...

Did we sign Cole on a 3 year deal? So would have to sell him to lose his wages, i.e we couldnt just chop his wages yes?

Yep, 3 yr deal so can't touch his contract without his permission. Either he agrees to a cut or spot ya later...

Target - Sergio Canales?

Nice write up of Downing on RAWK given his latest interest at LFC. Think i'd prefer him to Young, Young's never really done it for me...

Stewart Downing

Rafa offered the Atletico job. Would be good for him I think.

He could sell us Aguero for cheep!
almost 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Surely pacheco coming back in makes ngog uneeded? Besides you would think he did enough at the start of the season to get him into a lower prem team making us a few mill

Would be absolutely brilliant this! Everything about this is AWESOME. Yes please

Agreed, good write up from Juan Loco about Downing and think he could be a very useful addition to the squad, defo something we don't have.

Something else really really good from RAWK about them Mancs (and why we are better than them ): http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=275874.0

The RAWK article shows me that a lot of scousers are still full of crap. These guys have either have very short memories or were not born in the 79's & 80's.
Saying that Utd supporters have no class-- thats a joke, I've NEVER met a scouse that had any class, and I know plenty.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Sure did! Class cut back to see Nevilles faces! Nice to hear mash saying that. Still a bit dark about what happened there

Good article on Aqua. Hope it works out for him (and us) whatever the final decision is.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/soccer/05/30/digby.aquilani/index.html

Interesting reports coming out this morning that Young has now chosen to sign for LFC? Another twist...

Also been piecing a few things together around how Comolli is working. Hearing a number of times that he's starting to pee a number of clubs off with his 'low-ball' bids. Exactly the same tactic we saw in Jan with Adam where he was offering around that 4m mark.

Jen Chang (SI) was saying yesterday Comolli has a poor reputation in Europe for negotiating and that he's annoyed Rennes and St Etienne with low bids for Marveaux and Matuidi. I would have thought we'd have at least one of these wrapped up by now, particularly Adam. I just hope this tactic of trying to get players on the cheap doesn't backfire as we don't have Europe to help alleviate any transfer tension. Just a thought I had last night, maybe nothing... who knows.
almost 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
I get the feeling Aqua doesn't want to come back to England. Shame really as I think he would fit in perfectly.

There did seem to be a lot of worry about Comolli when he was appointed. Seems like he is pretty keen to take full control and can be hard to work with. Lucky KK is no mug.

I'm sure we are still an attractive club to players looking for a transfer. I just hope that now we have decent backing by the owners that we don't fail in the market like some of Rafas purchases
almost 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
I dont see any problem with 'low balling' bids to be honest... why should they get p*ssed off? Just say NO if it's not enough... wenger is famous for 'low balling' but it pays off financially... occasionally someone will come for cheap because nobody else happens to be bidding for them, but their club needs to cash in before it's too late - arshavin's transfer to arsenal is the prime example...
And when barca bid for fabregas last season we just said no, it's not enough, and moved on... no big deal?

I remember getting quite excited when Aqua was signed but now im just not sure hes an improvement. He's around the same level as what we already have in there (thinking spearing, lukas) but hes never going to start ahead of stevie or raul so just makes me think whats the point. Just reckon the calibre of players being targetted needs to lift, just look at the effect suarez has had. Players like Aqua are great if we want to get 4th, 5th or 6th but hes not going to crack us into the top spot where pool really should be; so for me sell him to whoever wants him and spalsh the money on something bigger and better.

A little of cash in the bank and we're signing everyone! Jordan Henderson the latest. Maybe it is just all about squad depth for the next year?
almost 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
cole off to spurs for 3mil.........pity we paid him 4 mil in wages!

Mata signed?

Sadly that might have been a paper seller from the daily fail... :(

Downing and Henderson on the other hand appear to be getting pretty close. Be happy with either or both of those.

Some interesting stats here on potential targets:

I did have my fingers crossed! We will see. Yeah henderson and downing would be good additions but not exactly top class.

This is my concern as well. Good players but not the world class ones we should be going after.Figures I've seen suggest 18mil has been offered for Henderson , as well as 65K a week.No wonder he's keen for a move!
I know clubs pay a premium for young British talent ( ask Giggsy , he's going to pay sh*tloads for his young British talent)  but this seems a bit excessive to me.Is Henderson all that much better that what's in the extended squad?
Oh well , wait and see.In Kenny we trust.
