Is that a definite , Kop?
I'll be a bit pissed off if it's true, and I didn't think I'd ever think that about him. He offers something that no-one in the squad does , IMO.
I see Mata to Chelski ; Jr will be steaming when he finds that out.

He has said:

"I am close to joining Milan," Aquilani told Gazzetta dello Sport"

Also, Silvio IRuinMyCountryAmACompleteJokeYetSomehowHaveTimeToRunAFootballClub has said that Aquilani is an 'interesting player'

See Linds quotes above. Sounds like it's a loan deal with option to buy in July 12 for a measly 5m. Makes me a little mad that we let him go so cheap (plus a pay out too apparently)

I can understand if a player wants to leave the club but surely you do what you can to get a decent price. He's far too talented to let go like this. As much as I like the kids talent his whole time at Anfield has been a complete mystery. All his "injuries", "illnesses", 3 managers now have struggled to keep him. It's just a bit baffling...

I'm pretty sure he doesn't like living in England, pretty gutted but he could potentially be disruptive if he is unhappy. I just hope that we manage to hold on to meireles, game turned when he came on. Any news who he was pulling the finger at?

The team is shaping up real nice though

Also what is the gossip with Joe Cole? He staying around?

QPR are keen on him as per sky sports.....Warnock said now that the takeover happened they can afford to pay for 30-40% of coles wages!

One would hope so with Aggers history. Maybe Kenny thinks Wilsons ready to stand up though

A tinge of sadness with The Greek leaving. Not the best to ever grace the Fields of Anfield Road but he always put 100% in. Farewell Beast.

Sebastian Coates coming in as replacement? Young, talented, lots of potential. Been a few places reporting it.

He looked the goods in Copa America too (caught an elbow too).

Yep , agree with this.Limited but always put in a shift.
Oh , I was right; Jr was pissed when he read about Mata.

Kuyt to Inter- WTF??
over 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Just saw those newsy items. Bellamy, no. Coates, yes please.

Cole to QPR.
Ngog to Bolton.
Poulsen to Kirkby...

COATES?!?!?!?! All day errday, would be buzzing with that. Absolutely buzzing.

Kyrgiakos is a Scouser,
Kyrgiakos is a Red,
Kyrgiakos played for Liverpool,
He broke Fellaini's leg.

All the best, la. Always liked him, gave his best when he was called upon, was a good fourth choice. Never hid. Monster in the air. Fantastic pro and good attitude. Now, lets bring someone else in. Coates ohmygawsh, please.

Yeah, Aquilani is goneburgers. Kind of sad, but something is obviously wrong there.

As for l'Arse game. Was so happy. Don't understand how people could be complaining?! It was a weak team, sure, but we won 0-2 at the Emirates, and its still Arsenal! So much good stuff there. Just how good does Enrique look?! Will be playing for Spain by the end of the season if he keeps that up. Kenny got his subs spot on. Glad Suarez got a bit of rest, he wasn't ready to play against Sunderland. Him and Raul changed the game. Was please with Hendo and Downing, and Adam's performance improved a lot. Kelly is also so so good. Just don't f**k with him at all. The goals will come for Carroll and Downing soon, getting closer.

Frimpong looks a great player, but he was always in trouble after picking up such a needless yellow so early. Vermaelen was a beast.

Exeter in the League Cup midweek? Hopefully see some fringe players have a go, but also see us win!

Bolton at home next in the League, not gonna be easy.

Oh, and Lucas was typically BOSS. Reina was also tops. Great to see him smiling again.
over 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Just pondering the Bellamy thing. I wonder if it's actually a good move... the guy can hussle and he obviously got experience. Would be good off the bench. Better than Ngog anywayz...

I'll keep thinking.
over 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Yeah, think it would be decent tbh. Would be interesting move at least.

Kuyt to Inter- WTF??

Forget about the Inter-Kuyt deal. Re-hash from last season.

This Coates deal is picking up pace. Nino obviously a fan, what's the kid like?

Big, strong, class on the ball and 20 years old. He's a Uruguayan so he's a proper battler too.

I wrote a big reply saying, he has lost 5 yards of pace since he left and seems to be eating for two! He didn't really set the championship alive either huh? Although I do agree that he always gave heaps and seemed proud to play for the club. But now I checked the rumours site and the guy who alway seems to get it right reckons there is a good chance on Bellamy! Oh well Kenny, hope you are right

He also said that Coates will defintely come in...youtube search for me, I know nothing!

Haha, yeah, I bet he would have been. And everyone in Uruguay supports Liverpool now cos of Luisito!

maaaaan, PLEASE for Coates!! And think Bellamy would be a better option than Ngog. So with Coates and Bellamy replacing Soto and Ngog... Our squad would be looking very healthy.
over 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Word on the street is it's being decided tomorrow by Coates/Nacional and wrapped up before the weekend.

He certainly looks promising. Maybe a bit raw but nothing KK and Clarky couldn't sort out.
over 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
I hope we can get him! Yup, still a lot to learn, but exciting! Apparently he has been talking to Suarez... Luisito and Luganito!
over 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Hope Luis told him to come!
over 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Hell yes, would be stoked with Coates.

If we get him, who would be the preffered starting CB combo?
over 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Coates deal looking good. Come on LFC, confirm it!

Can't see KD using him straight away but it'll definitely put pressure on Carra. Coates and Agger at the back?

According to Football365 Citeh are sniffing around Coates as well

How's this for a quote from the man himself!

10.05: A bit more from Seb Coates now, with thanks to the splendid Rory Smith of The Daily Telegraph:

"I'd prefer Liverpool to Manchester City, but would need to see both offers. But having the help of Luis Suarez would be very important.

"The Liverpool offer ticks all boxes, so fair to say it's a done deal...Luis' success is important for me as another Uruguayan joining."
over 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Much better now against Exeter. Suarez running the show a bit.

Some good finishing too from Carroll 3-0

Little worried to think what would happen if suarez got injured, he is the team at the moment. But with stevie still to come back in as well, exciting times

Yup...scary!

Suarez will always make things happen, even if he's not used to the players around him, but as the rest of the team gels and get more matchtime together, things will start to click and we won't be as reliant on him.
