Benny not coming. He'll got to the Spurs lot.

This Zarate character's popped up again. Seems to be well liked but can't say I know anything about him... maybe Tyler's insiders can confirm?

It's going to suck only having football to talk about soon... NOT!

What a difference a year makes, eh?

On a (totally irrelevant) sidenote; it does make you wonder what Rafa could've done with this sort of money. I'm so glad we have Kenny, and wouldn't swap him for anyone in the world, but you get my point.

Is right. Always welcome at our club, and fought (and lost his job) to help try and save us.

But anyways, happy days! Poulsen on his way, Coates confirmed. Some good stuff on the official site about him!

The 20-year old Uruguay international put pen to paper on a long-term deal at Melwood on Tuesday evening after finalising his transfer from Brazilian outfit Nacional - and immediately hailed Suarez's contribution in securing his Anfield arrival.

"Luis told me a lot about Liverpool - but about the fans more than anything else," said Coates, in an exclusive interview with Liverpoolfc.tv. "He told me how passionate they are about the club and how supportive they are.

"I saw that myself on Saturday when the fans really got behind their side against Bolton and that was great to see.

"Luis also told me about the history and the tradition of the club and now I feel very happy and excited to be here because I have left one great club in Nacional and signed for another great club with a fantastic history.

"To come to such a big club alongside a fellow countryman is very important for me. I know Luis will help me settle in, we have the same cultures and customs so having him around will help me a lot."

Coates and Suarez celebrated success on the international stage in the summer as Uruguay landed the Copa America - with our latest signing being named the Young Player of the tournament in Argentina.

Having tasted success with his country, he's now setting his sights on helping Liverpool land silverware over the coming years.

"You always want to win everything as a player but in my case I know I have to take things step by step," he added. "I have to train hard ad be ready to get out onto the field and play.

"I want to win as much as I can in a Liverpool shirt and that means the league title and any cup competitions we take part in. We have to set our sights high."

Coates has already experienced the Anfield atmosphere after watching the weekend victory over Bolton from the Director's Box - but he's hoping to spend more time on the pitch than in the stands in the future.

"Even though I hadn't signed I still wanted to get out there and play," he said. "From the moment I sat in the stand I wanted to be out on the pitch.

"I know that when I do get the chance to play I have to perform to the best of my ability. I'm really happy to be here. When I arrived at the stadium on Saturday I was treated very well by everybody and I hope to repay all those good wishes in the future."

I fall in love with Suarez more and more each day...

Good luck Poulsen , but not good enough. Bloody Cecil!!!
Coates  Jr will be SO happy when he finds out.
As for Cole , any chance of a swap for Hazard ?

Welcome Coates, good stuff.

I like this fact:

4. Coates shares his birthday with another giant ex-Red, Sami Hyypia. The duo were both born on October 7.

Also, next transfer target, a striker. Bellamy off the table, any idea who else is being linked?

Affelay, Sturridge and Zarate are all rumoured

Things are looking good. This time last season we lacked any depth up front or in central defence- quality signings have me certain of a top 3 finish and perhaps a domestic trophy this season!

Will be interesting to see how the side shapes up when Gerrard and Johnson return and Coates is up to speed.

Well happy with the coates signing!

I still think we are light up top. What happens if Carroll or Suarez gets a serious injury?

"French paper La Voix du Nord say Lille will give Liverpool first refusal on Edin Hazard in 2012 as part of Joe Cole loan."

This from BBC rumour mill, but a first option on Hazard sounds good.

Just came to post this. Massive massive news if true, Hazard is an outstanding winger, will have CL experience and still only 20?

Bellamy the last in? Happy with that.

What a window!
over 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Bellamy back on, will see in the next hour. At this point I'll take any striker with a bit of experience to add some depth.

Seams to be differing stories around the Lille/Hazard thing. Either way though we have a foot in Lille's door which is the main thing. Cole may even get vindicated if we pull off Hazard next season! *Must not jump too far ahead*

is right. f**k Meireles.

Happy enough with Bellamy though. And so glad to see Poulsen out, and Cole out- at least short term. Hope he does well and they want to keep him. Aha, would be nice about Hazard, but we'll see.

Good luck to Ngog. Always liked him. That goal against the Mancs- fantastic.

A couple of things on those heading out.

All of Poulsen, Cole and Ngog have been quality lads off the field. Never said or did a bad thing against the club and while not the best they gave it 100% on the field. Wish them all the best. Hope it works out for them.

In my opinion Bellamy is the next Cole and we'll be paying someone to take the prick this time next year.

Agree on Miereles, f**king dog.
over 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Not so sure about that. I think Bellamy has a lot to offer. Great impact player off the bench.

Degen contract terminated??

Loving the late drama this morning! VERY good window for Liverpool imo

Only Brad Jones to go now...

DC has done some stellar work.

Degen gone
COle gone -although he could have been a great signing for us , didn't quite work out. Not sure why , but good luck lad ( esp if you going to Lille means we get first dibs on Hazard next year )
Raul gone- f... off and die you f...... twat. KD said that the most important players are the ones who want to be there  ; so f... off .Oh , Raul baby , how does it feel to be second choice after Modric ? Never mind , go and rub against  ladyman and I hope you both get some horrible , disfiguring diease!!
Bitter , moi? Never
Bellamy- I'm Ok with that. Experienced cover  , probably will play his arse off if needed .Always liked his attitude from a long way back. Morgan still a bit young probably.
Overall , good window.
over 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Exactly, overall a pretty fantastic window. Would rather Hendo than Meireles anyway. Its a shame he left (especially in the way he did), but ah well.

Step up Mr Jordan Henderson.
over 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
So Meireles gone, fee thought to be 12m, bit gutting. Will have to wait 'til the dust settles'

To be fair to Miereles, he was promised an improved contract if he performed (which he certainly did) which LFC have not provided. He might of f**ked us in the way he left but it sounds like he was f**ked first.
