brilliant result, really good to see torres somewhat approaching his old form

BRILLIANT

Torres two amazing goals. Lucas a midfield beast... something that I hope to continue and didn't really expect.

Oh and Martin Kelly, well done. When I saw Malouda starting up against Kelly, with the form Florent has been in I thought he would give Martin a heap of trouble. But Kelly played really well.

Great result, and even better to see Torres pull his socks up and make a couple count in a big game.

Well done lads, rounded off a perfect weekend...

Lucas.

The kids switched gears since Masch left.

Thanks Nando. Nando and Gerrard have been involved in every Prem goal so far this season. Either scoring or assisting.

Happy Monday everyone.  Big smiles all round today.  That's four wins on the trot.  Here we go.

Good article this:
http://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/axe-will-fall-in-anfield-rising-2410728.html

It'll be interesting to see what Carra's reaction is if/when Roy is replaced? Article talks of Roys loss of power since NESV arrived and Purslow has gone. Same could be said about Carra too, it's no wonder he signed that 2 year extension at the 11th hour.

P.S Ignore the bits about Gerrard, the author must have been smoking dope at the time of writing. Just focus on the Roy/Carra stuff.TheKop2010-11-08 09:41:46

lucas v Chelsea

Lucas' victims: Malouda, Anelka, Cole, Drogba... he basically owned every blue nose out there.

Dirk Kuyt: Man or Machine?

Lucas, fking top performance, espesh in the first half. Ran the show.

Torres, what can you say? What a player. Two fantastic goals.

Everyone out there today was brilliant. Special mention to Skrtel, Carra, Reina and Kelly. And The Kop.

I love this football club.

Maybe you can buy Krancjar when you sell Poulsen.  He wants to go to you lot or Italy according to his dad.

Sure, he can sit on the bench and keep Babel company.

Watching the 2005 CL final. Am I allowed to start dreaming again?

What about Pepe and Torres possibly leaving if the new owners don't bring the goods?? Bit scary if true
over 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
^Meh. I'm sure, like us they're on the cautious side after being bit by those two clowns but I'm also sure over the next several months Henry, Comolli and Co will be laying out their plans and I'm certain they'll have a couple of targets for January as they'll need to show some sort of intent. Can't see us spending large in Jan but if we can score one or two players I'm sure Pepe and Nando would want to stay.

Yeah, could just be a ploy by Pepe to get the owners to start spending..

What a pathetic display.

Dammit. Blew a real good chance to climb the ladder there. Reverted back to start of the season tactics...

Back to our best. Good work, Roy.

I just don't understand how we can be so poor.
Just kept giving the ball away.
Any chance of stringing half a dozen passes together? No.
Maybe the weekend took a lot out of them.
over 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Yeah. Lucas and Kuyt in particular looked exhausted.. But still. Humiliating tactics and performance. Roy just doesn't change things when we obviously need it.

Funny how things change after 1 game......not good enough though

Tbf, mate, we bossed the game against Blackburn for 70 minutes, and then got outplayed for the last 20. We were rubbish against Bolton, but Maxi popped up with the winner. Napoli game we weren't great until Stevie decided to save the day. And against Chelsea we had about our entire team inside our own box for the second half.

Not taking away from those wins (God, we'll take anything we can get!) but there was a feeling they were papering over some cracks. Such as the ridiculously deep defending we do. Such as Konchesky not blocking any crosses. Such as Roy's substitutions/ selection of the bench being bewildering.

He got the tactics for the Chelsea game spot on, and a lot went our way and we played really well, with some passion. But today is back to usual. No passion, no quality, no control. I don't think Roy is the right man.

Also, the ref was almost as sh*te as we were today!

To be fair, one month ago you would have lost that game.
