How hard would it be to get some of the loaned out players back? Craig Cathcart is playing for Watford in the Championship, loan ends 4th Jan.

So last season I bought a Hargreaves shirt.
Hargreaves was then out for the season.

This season I bought a Ferdinand shirt.
Ferdinand is out for an undisclosed time.

I see a worrying trend...

For all of our sake (apart from me having to wear it) I think I may have to purchase a Nani shirt...

Yes please, take one for the team.

Old Ruud van Nistelrooy is going to be transfered this Jan... rumors are moves to Liverpool or Arsenal.

United vs Liverpool... Nistelrooy vs Owen?

Why would van Nistelrooy go to a club that won't be in Europe next season?

Three for me, and two for them.

sol campbell huh? that would be interesting. sort of like the short term larsson deal

Another, more long term solution would be Simon Kjaar, (relatively) cheap and a good young player. But Sol would be an instant fix it, and at the end of the season he can go on his merry way with  a medal or two. No need to worry about the long term with him, especially with a lot of defenders in our squad as it is (just none fit at the moment). If Kjaar came in then someone might have to leave.

I am so immensely pleased that al last one of you has made reference to the Smears, wonderful defensive combination which I think could fit in with ease at United. Bring a lot more love to the club to with their famous defensive hugs!

I don't know what your problem is, Buff? As you already said, English players never dive- they're much too honest- so stop trying to make people believe they do!
Permalink Permalink

I'd give him 8.5 for the dive and 7.5 for originality in doing the dive. I'm still trying to find the physical contact. I assume he was carded for simulation??

Yeah he got a yellow. It was bemusing hearing one of the commentators going off at the ref for getting the call all wrong, only for replays to show that it was one of the more blatant dives in recent times.

and he is a repeat offender
amazing he got a yellow, especially at OT
great job by the ref, nice to see one doing it right.

now for the FA to make an example of Rooney and maybe the message will get through and players (and their managers) will realize there are  actually consequences for being a cheat.

Anyway, I'm pretty keen to see Alex spend some big bucks next month. A proper left winger, maybe a new CB, RB or something. If Alex reckons he has the Youth coming through, then he shouldn't be afraid to splash on some olderish players.

I'd also like to point out, that 9/10 bad United performances have Anderson in the midfield. :lMichael2009-12-13 23:17:26

I read some SAF quotes yesterday and he said it was going to be a very quiet January for united. and that every player he tried to buy in the summer had their price bumped up out of his range just because it was united trying to buy them.

Out of interest, what left wingers are floating around Michael?

Rooney dived and it got dealt with. Unfortunately a yellow is far too weak to combat divers. Annoying thing is that Rooney could have still played the ball if he stayed on his feet.

SAF generally talks down buying before transfer windows as he believes any interest from Man Utd pushes up player prices, but I don't see any big signings.

The transfer for Adem Ljajic has been cancelled due to not being able to obtain a work permit, seems weird considering the deal to sign him was arranged when Tosic signed almost a year ago and Man Utd applying for a work permit for Diouf, gives some credit to rumours that we are short of $ or maybe just a polite way to say Ljajic wasn't up to scratch.

Yea, I thought I read somewhere that they didn't think Ljajic was quite good enough and the fact Tosic was underwhelming added to this.

Was shocked to see SAF cancel the Ljajic deal. thought he was meant to be the next big thing.

Now, onto the topic of that monumental catastrophe on Sunday morning, goodness me. Was shocked to see Park starting. Steady player but never going to win a game for us. Seems Valencia has become our only guarunteed starting winger which is fair enough. Am usually very complimentary of United as am a huge fan but all I can say is that Tosic must be awful if he is behind both Nani and Park in the pecking order. A new left winger is a must have and was disappointed to read Fergie once again saying he will not be splashing the United cash. Left winger must be bought, someone along the lines of Silva, Ribery, Hamsik, di Maria, Mata etc etc. Also would like to see Simon Kjaer or Maroane Chamakh to cover our woeful run of centre back injuries.

Anyone else spewing at the rumour of Sol Campbell signing for United?

He is versatile like Chris Sutton

Silva would be nice, so would a decent CM. Scholes is 35 and there is no suitable heir to his midfield thrown. Cathcart is back in January from being loaned out to Watford and would provide some relief in defence but SAF needs to start planning to replace Ferdinand if his form and consistency continue to decline as has done this season.

I like Hamsik. Well I do until I think about what he could do to us in the World Cup next year.
Would be a very good signing for United.

He is class. Hopefully he'll just have 'one of those days' against us in June

If Fergie is chasing Hamsik does this mean Hargreaves is crocked for good? Because you need a solid holding midfielder and tbh i don't think Carrick or Fletcher offer that for you.

Three for me, and two for them.

He's well arrogant. Quality player though. Siggy will sort him out no worries.

Hamsik, that is.

Yaya Toure would be great to have. Is being linked with numerous clubs, but I think unlikely to move.

Looking at the squad now I am sure that SAF would have loved to still have Pique and Rossi in the squad.

Probably put Valencia in - Giggs playd 90 minutes on the weekend so it's not likely he'll be too involved tomorrow.

Giggs was subbed at half time against Villa. hope it's not an injury
