Great win against Wigan! Valencia and Rooney are amazing, especially when they link together, I think Valencia is now justifying his 16 million pound price tag!

May as well have a disallowed penalty here than in the final!

Obertan was rubbish, as was Welbeck. Anderson played alright but many of our loses, he seems to have started. I'm not a fan of him at all.

Brown f**ks up and for the rest of the match decides he's going to sprig everyone in the leg.

But def a penalty in my opinion.Michael2010-01-04 04:01:43

Wes Brown was despondent after Beckford took him to the cleaners.

Ronaldo thinks it's funny too

bad luck MUFC
on a positive note, LUFC are a prestigious club with a settled ownership/management structure, a sound financial base and fighting for promotion from the third tier of domestic football.

RedCafe reacts to the latest United setback in unsurprising fashion:

Rooney is overrated and was our worst player today - admit it.

'm sorry but it's true. I feel like the little boy pointing and laughing at the naked king - nobody will admit it but me.

Because it's Rooney, we must cradle his balls and whisper in his ear? f**k off.

Today was a perfect example. We were playing a League 1 team and he did nothing. Ronaldo would have scored four, maybe five goals, I guarantee it, but Rooney did Twit all. In a no pressure game.

Fergie was right when he said Rooney and Owen are very similar - they both need changes delivered to them on a plate. Analyse any of Rooney's goals this season, he didn't do one dribble. And how many did he score from distance?

Let's have a look at the evidence:

1) He gave the ball away again and again today - one player even burgled him from behind today. And he was to blame for Hull's goal the other day.

2) When is the last time he did a dribble? Has he ever gone past more than one player on a dribble?

3) He's not that fast and is getting slower. People said he played and looked like a 26 year old when he was a 16 year old. He now plays and looks like a 34 year old.

4) He runs around a lot and wins back the ball? Why lose it in the first place? How is that different from Tevez or Alan Smith?

5) Compared to Torres and Ronaldo, he's slower, less able to dribble, shorter, more hard working but as hard working as Torres, and more angry.

6) He may have issues with certain teammates, I'm saying no more. Just analyse which kind he does and doesn't pass to, more or less...
If SAF can't expect to beat a team from 2 leagues below in 90 minutes then that says f**k all about us as a team.
He should have held his head high and said Leeds deserved the win - cos they did!
How's about we take a lesson from Leeds and start getting the simple things right like passing and defending. You don't need to throw money around to get the basics right, absolute sh*te from us today, played much of the game like we didn't want it. Gibson - sh*t, Berbatov - 30m worth of sh*t, Owen - sh*t, Obertan - sh*t, Neville - sh*t. Set pieces - sh*t and still Fergie won't give Tosic a go.

Champions League
No offence, but talking about the Champions League after such an embarrassing defeat to f**king Leeds makes me laugh. We need to seriously raise our game if we want to overcome Milan, not even talking about the further stages of the competition.
Simply not good enough..........theres discontantment in the camp.If any of the so called superstars and you know who I mean dont want to play for us let em go.The boss please stop tinkering with the team all the time, constantly playing young players out of position,we are buying untried youngsters for the future and have simply not been buying any tried and trusted quality.I fear for us the tide is turning, not a knee jerk reaction we have not been good all season.Opinions please...

Yeh, but when the tides turn he can't take it.

Anyway, this kinda sh*t happens and in a day or two the comments will be positive again. Apparently since you found some comments which say Rooney is over-rated then they must be correct!

The entire failure was the midfield who lost a center battle to a league 1 side. If Fletcher and Carrick were their it would've made a huge difference.

Next, one guy says Fergie "still won't give Toasic a go" Just shows how retarded his opinion is, because Tosic can barely get a place in the reserves right now.

Anyway, now we can focus on the Premier league and Champions league, and if anything Alex has learnt a lot (in terms of players), so I can see some positive outcomes of this.Michael2010-01-04 12:03:56

Beaten for pace for the goal, long ball footy at it's finest and Leeds deserved to win "no question about that"

I'm not sure which incident you're talking about, Michael, but I didn't see any penalties.  Closest was the controversial free kick decision (not awarded) when Owen was brought down just outside the box.  Only saw one replay and in poor quality, so couldn't tell if it was a foul or no, but there's no way it could be given as a penalty.

Also, Leeds aren't really "a League 1 side".  They're Championship material, and no doubt viewed the fixture as their biggest game of the season.

On the about four minutes into the second half I believe. Leeds defender had his leg at (i think) Gibson's waist hit and took him out. The commentators later agreed it should've been a penalty.

But not an excuse for losing to a League 1 team.

Hmm.  I don't see anything about such an incident in the press.  Nor has SAF panned anything but the lack of extra time.

manutd.com complained about Owen going down (here I'm sure they're wrong) and about Welbeck going down in a challenge with Howson.  (manutd.com, "Howson bodychecked him in the area", uk.eurosport.yahoo.com, "He went down very easily" - pick your poison).

Oddly, eurosport (and not manutd.com) reckons there was a chance at the 40th minute, with Becchio perhaps fouling Berbatov during a corner - "it might have been a penalty had referee Foy seen it."

Can't make any comment on the game as I did not watch it.
However, the fact that United lost does not thrill me but they will still finish above 95% of the other teams in the league.
Besides we have won the Cup more times(equal) than any other team.
Give the other plonkers a chance.

Typical Man U Fan - A manager who has won 11 Premierships including the last 3 in a  row, 2 Champions Leagues (including a treble), has only lost 270 out of 1300 games he has manged Man U (especially when you consider what they were like before he joined and the 4 years it took to build an adequate team). And a freak result means the armchair Man U supporters think he's barmy!!!

yeah but the badge still said Manchester United and the shirt was red so it doesn't matter who you fielded, Manchester United Lost. That's what the record books will say. Not, "A team made up of no names in red shirts with Manchester United on them lost to Leeds"( or Everton for that matter)

Any team United fields should beat leeds. I couldn't imagine how much more our reserves are being paid than leeds.

Shows what you know about the game. He should have played his strongest team. The FA cup is not what he is after- there is no money in it.The Champions league is what he wants.

Leggy - not questioning you're commitment or credentials, but you just answered your own question re understanding SAF - his focus is on securing a spot in the Champions League and hopefully the EPL title as well. Why else would he (and Arsene) field that starting XI?

Think you misread what I said, and judging by your other replies, I dont;t think you are understand what you are saying.

Ferguson does what he believes is best for Man U. The success they have is due soley to what he has achieved. Forget Busby and the legacy etc, all that was long gone when he inherited the club. So for an armchair fan to question the guy after what he has given the club is typiical of Man U fans at the moment. One loss and they say he doesn't know what he is doing!

Ferguson picked the team he believed could beat Leeds while also balancing the squad for the heavy fixture load of Xmas. It was the players who let him down - only Rooney and Valencia bothered in that game.
