Seems to be a common theme at WHL this season.

They better hurry up and build the new stadium.

Yet to make an appearance (on the bench for the last game), so hopefully he will create some impact and stop us from "fading away" like other perennial strugglers.

F%ck.

OK, I see 'Arry and the lads have also made sure that there is absolutely no bad mojo around for the Nix tomorrow, by losing to Richies old team.

Table of teams Wolves have taken 6 points off this season:

Three for me, and two for them.

And double F**k, somehow Wolves have done the double over us this season, and we haven't even managed to score against them.

This and on a day when the ARSEnal win...

God, the Nix better do me proud tomorrow night...

Oh the joys of being a Spurs fan!

Christ, when is lennon going to be back?

Some really odd choices for the starting line up I thought. HAving said that, when Palacious, Crouch and Modric came on it seems nothing much else happened either.

Please NIx, give me footballing Joy tomorrow night...

it's like you don't want to play in the champions league

bad luck guys
no shame in conceding the double to quality side like Wolves
at least Birmingham lost so 6 or 7th is still in the realms of possibility.

Just wait till next year when Cesc leaves...

You'll be looking over your shoulder then...

Your right... when he does leave (not necessarily next year, but who knows) we will still be looking over our shoulder.

At you.

Behind us.

Whilst I can edit my post and correct my spelling, you can't edit history and get those six points back.

...or undo 5-1 in the Carling Cup.

Anyway - looks like we are drawing our way to the FA Cup. I would like to say I feel confident that the return match is at WHL - it's been a real fortress this season.

(excuse me while I choke on those words)

Go Pav - two for the Russian in the 3-0 win at Wigan, which by the way is sh*theap of a ground. The pitch was horrible, looked like a pitch from the 60's...

They've had league games there lately...

good result. not sure what to think about paly scoring twice. bit of a spanner in the works?
about 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Well done on getting a result at that dump of a place. Hopefully the pitch is better when we visit on April 18.

PS. 3 London teams in the top 4 now

Three for me, and two for them.

4-0 and a tough trip to Fulham in a couple of weeks. Yay!
about 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Another draw away and then a replay at WHL (beat them 2-0 there for the EPL).  I guess Pavvy can't complain about not getting match play now.

His touch can still be a tad heavy at times. More game time might help that.

gudjohnson playing yet?
about 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
soccernet.com match report has him coming on at half time for Defoe but doesn't say much other than an offside call for a shot on goal.

We might need him as the season get towards the business end.  Crouch seems to be in a barren patch.

More worrying is Lennon not yet quite right and King with an inury (thankfully not his knee).

OK, here it is:

A couple of pints in the Bell and Hare after making the arduous trip up from Liv'poolStreet station. We were a group of five, 2 kiwis and irish pirate, an american and a brit.

we had seats at thePark Lane end, very noisy, and well worth it. The stewards let us stand for th ewhole match, first time I've seen that at the lane. Maybe the FA Cup rules are different from the EPL. Or maybe it's becasue only about 100 Bolton fans turned up, no chance of agro.

so onto the match proper:
Paly was, of course, quite sharp. Bolton gave him some time on the ball for some random reason?
Defoe was a bit quiet TBH, although it was his dart into the box that forced the Bolton keeper to hurry and overstep towards the ball, putting it in his own net while he fell over/tried to take it. Bale looked super. Beating his defender at will every time on the left wing. He's come on alot since a year ago when we all used to yell sort-of-abuse at him. Although, he still looks like a Neanderthal?

The game was in the bag at Half Time. Bolton pretty much had nothing except the occasional direct route up the guts. But they had to shoot from too far out, Gomes had good hands each time.

On the subject of Gomes, we had some classic moments singing to the guy in the 2nd half. He loves to be asked thes score, and responds by holding up the appropriate number of fingers replecating the score. Good value and always gets a solied applause from the stands. He's still doing the half-time crossbar leaping too.

The bench was full of young chaps, although only Danny Rose came on. He's no Lennon, despite simlar build. But he did make some nice runs in the right hand corner of their box.

Our crossing was good, something that has improved no end since 'arry's arrival. Overall, there were some lacklustre moments, but Bolton really didn;t perform, especially conceeding two own-goals, that's just silly.

Pat Jennings came out on the pitch at half-time to draw a winning seat number. The winner get's to play at the lane sometime in the offseason in a promotion match. There's a website for the comp, something like playatwhitehartlane.co.uk or somesuch???

4-0, in spite of Owen Colyes comments, was fair. Could've been more if Eidur hadn't been offside for his super little run. He looked good holding up and running by the way. Luka also had a clear chance after a lovely 1-2 with someone (Hoddlestone?) in the box...

About 85th minute the American dude turns to me and says "isn't this the time when you're guys back home would take their shirts off"?
