This is excellent work. Well done to all involved!

It also allows us to keep using the chant we had been using for Carlos Hernandez, which is perhaps the most pleasing bit I think.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Stoked. A part of me was worried he'd follow Arnold to Shitny, glad he didnt.

I'd have preferred Payne...

BOOM!

Import slot open for a striker now.

Wonder if Clapham is gutted we finally signed a ginger kiwi attacking mid and its not him?

So the keeper is sorted, RB is still a debate (I think it is but maybe not) The midfield 4 is sorted, just need the strikers...

Actually we look very thin on strikers now. Brocky and Boyd to lead the line? Hmmmm. Oh and Krishna too (lols)

I'd also like to hat-tip the Phoenix for waiting until after the All Blacks test to drop this announcement. I presume (perhaps generously) that was on purpose to give it maximum chance of coverage.

Great signing.

Feels like a proper signing too.

A proven, top-quality A-League player, still in his prime, who any other A-League club would have been happy to have, and we got him.

Well done Phoenix. Well done.

Yep a decent foreign striker and a class Aussie/NZ leftback/rightback (probably not gonna happen).

Rest of the spots can be youngsters.. (not Tim Payne)

We have on paper what looks to be a very strong midfield. Kenny, Riera, Gorrin and Wee Mac.

Thats quite scarily good in some respects. Pace, creativity, defensiveness....  Am I being optimistic unnecessarily?

Does anyone know how to change the players name on the back of a shirt from Hernandez to McGlinchey.

Is that the coverage missing from TV 1's lunchtime new and sports?

Curious lack of comment from the Phoenix re: McGlinchey signing. Hearing @ALeague may have jumped the gun - deal not officially complete...

This has got to be a piss take surely.

McGlinchey is even quoted in the article after being very tight lipped about it last week.

Considering he's quoted in there himself you'd think this is still going to happen.

Surely it's still happening - according to the rules the Phoenix weren't even allowed to talk to WeeMac until they had notified CCM, the fact that the A-League did the press release with quotes, etc. Seems to indicate a done deal.

My guess is that the Phoenix wanted to announce it themselves (normally do a pre announcement on twitter accompanied by a press conference).

It'd be hilarious if they do a pre-announcement now.

You can notify CCM that you are talking with him but that doesn't mean they have to release him early. But it's good to see that this is now likely to happen just annoying there is still a little bit of doubt. I hope its more down to the announcement or paperwork than CCM not agreeing. Does anyone know how long his contract with CCM actually lasts? It will solve a big problem of needing two import players with only one slot available if it does.

Yes I'm just saying that its not likely to be Mcglinchey signing for us without the paperwork being done on the other end. Everything would have been fully transparent.

Apparently two years left.
