Bell is one of the world's great run getters in NZ's domestic 4 day comp.  But have you seen him play test cricket?  Ye gods!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lou's gone forever. Some say he wasn't always here in the first place.

Lou???? ok in the one dayers, great fielder, long gone!

Lee to How, OUT, Timber! Lee really bends his back there, he bowls it full and gets it to swing in, How leaves a gap between bat and pad and the ball pushes the off stump back, Lee set him up the previous delivery with a full ball at good pace, timely breakthrough for Australia
JM How b Lee 14 (66m 39b 2x4 0x6) SR: 35.89

On radio they're calling it a good pitch now.

....and yesterday Richie Benaud said there is no way any captain should have chosen to bowl first at the Gabba and it was a bad mistake.

What the hell shot was that!?!? Ryder got himself in and settled just to throw it all away. Distinctly unimpressed i am.

No worries, we've got Flynn in now. He'll get 8 over 4 hours of excruciating television.

Reckon if Taylor sticks around for 2-3 more hours, we may get a lead. Fingers crossed.

proaying right now that we don't have to rely on Vettori, elliot and Mills to make our xscore decent!

If we have to rely on Mills to get runs in this test, then we're screwed.

I can't see Tim or Chris helping out much, which leaves Elliot and Vettori! Top order really needed to score today!

Mills isn't playing, O'Brien is the third seamer.

Taylor really chancing it atm, and getting away with it so far.el grapadura2008-11-21 14:40:22

O'Brien is a hopeless batsman, though not as bad as Martin. Mills is actually quite decent with the bat.

Another 4 for Taylor, classical cover drive this time, he's 36 off 39.

I would have thought southee would bat at 9, he's not looked too bad with bat in hand!

Wank Wank Ricky Ponting, Wank Wank MARVELOUS.

108/4, lunch.

Taylor on 40, survived a massive caught behind appeal, but a good decision from Koertzen, the ball flicked his back pad. Was fairly obvious to me watching it, but the Oz players and commentators wee jumping up and down, and then settled a bit after seeing the replay.

Flynn actually looking very solid, I'm starting to think there may be something to him...
