McCullum should be at 7, trouble is neither Flynn nor Elliot are better than him!

McCullum is very talented, but in tests he shouldn't really bat in the middle order, he's a better fit for the team at 7.

I've actually quite like what I've seen from Flynn today, think he should probably go to 5 instead of McCullum. Elliott is more of a stop-gap measure, there to fill in for Oram atm.

Flynn's average of 41.08 is the best of the black caps I think.....no one else over 40. Correct me if I'm wrong

well Vettori has the chance to add to his average now! heaps of time, as long as Flynn can stay with him!

Our batting is pathetic.
Supporting NZ at cricket is very frustrating.

Oh FFS i leave them alone for all of two hours and they completely capitulate. Typical bloody Black Caps performance.

Three for me, and two for them.

Two hours is more than enough time for the black craps to completely f**k things up buffy.

So if we can bowl out Australia for 150 we can win. One down as i type.

f**k, only the NZ cricket team have the ability to raise you up so high and then drop you like that. Flynn needs to be put amongst Ryder, Taylor and McCullum. They are al to flashy. Frustrating to watch guys like Ryder and Taylor, even How to a lesser extent get themselves in and then get out

42 over the last 27 tests.

I think Flynn for McCullum in the order is all that needs to be changed. And f**king Redmond has to be dropped. Maybe Flynn opening with Fulton in the side? Or Ryder opening? Great stuff Martin first ball. Our batting was terrible, it was almost better studying than watching during English this afternoon. No player scoring 50 in a test match innings for any team is completely unacceptable.

Why were the young c**ts the lowpoint? I may have only been 6 but I'll always remember being at Eden Park when Paddybatch smashed Marshall, Ambrose and Walsh all around the park. I will also never be let forget about my tears standing on the Terraces after the semi, inconsolable apparently

Technically it wasn't the lowpoint, but according to the graph out team crashed when they came in. Low point looks to be around 2001, 02ish. Not really sure why...

Can anyone tell me how fast Southee bowls, its got him as medium-fast on Cricinfo, a bit faster I thought.
Permalink Permalink

Nah, 130s, think he will get faster as he gets a bit older. He has some bulking up to do

Hopefully when he's in his prime he's bowling up around 145 or faster. Katich and Ponting going at around 5 an over at the moment. 38/1 off 8.

Ponting brain explosion. 2/40. I hate how we do this, just hanging on in there giving us the faintest bit of hope. f**king sucks.

Three for me, and two for them.

So true Buffon, we quite often get Aussie 4 or 5 down for not much and then someone ruins us, used to be Gilchrist. Christchurch in 05, Brisbane last time, Hamilton years ago. Always hang in there to give us hope and then we have to bat..... grrrrrrrrr

We need to bowl the aussies out for around 120 to have a real chance.

Realistically what could we chase to win this game? Around  200 to 250?

I'd say about 12. So we've pretty much lost already.

Ok, on the premise that we cant collapse so badly again we are well and truly back in this game now. Get one of these two soon and we expose what is a softish underbelly

So the top 4 batsmen back in the shed. This test could be in a very interesting state by tonight. Can't wait for tommorow, first match of cricket after a 6 week injury, and the Blackcaps on the wireless as well. It better be sunny in Brisbane and Wellington tommorow.
