Aus just passing our total. We need to roll them for 50ish more runs to have jus the slightest chance...

Aussie 350/5 at Lunch, Haddin 71 off 86, Clarke 77.

We've got them where we want them! I reckon another 300 runs and the Aussies will be so knackered that there's no way they can bat again. Then again they probably won't have to

Looks like the Aussies are going to accelerate and then put us in for 1/2 hour. Haddin 169, great knock. Redmond getting tonked.

So we need 265 just to make them bat again. Innings defeat by Tea tommorrow I reckon. First wicket will fall tonight.

Postive start, 16 off three balls. Lee no-balled twice.

Anyone think we can take this into Day 5?

Id just like to see some positive intent through the day, if we go down playing the way like Redmond and How did then it will be easier to watch, if we fold meekly however I will be displeased.
On the topic of How, what has happened to him? He has one of the better techniques in our team but I sense a bit of a flat track bully. He has undoubted talent I hope he begins to deliver on it soon

I think we will - call me delusional. Although I don't think we'll take it beyond lunch on Day 5.

You lot couldn't beat an Egg! If you spent less time chasing eggs you might have a chance!

Number one in Aussie Rules though, can't take that from you.

Why do umpires and referees get in the way of sport anyway?

Did someone (well, me) say that we needed an opener or two???

Opener = patient...

Redmond = not.

Phucken.

I can't believe we were 101/1 at lunch on day one and will lose by an innings and plenty. Good luck Andy.

It's not so bad...

We really only need three top order batsman (ie, two openers and a four).

A fast bowler (ie: 140km consistently minimum). An opening bowler (Martin isn't going to get any better, or younger...) a bowling all rounder... oh, and more than 400 in a test innings regularly (well, once would be a change) would be great too!

And a wicketkeeper-batsman who is williing (as against capable) to bat for long periods (no, not the first ten-forty overs of an ODI...

So... we need Nathan Astle, Matthew Bell, Stephen Fleming, Shane Bond, Jacob Oram... and McCullum to pull his head out of his behind and start playing test cricket (or become a pj specialist so we can develop Hopkins or ???).

Not so bad eh? Cheers Braces!

When Bracewell came in we were 3rd in the Test rankings. He leaves with us bordering on 8th which is pretty much last (i don't count Bangladesh as a real test nation).

Goodbye and good riddens.

Three for me, and two for them.

serious questions have to be asked as to why Patel wasn't played in this test, the Aussies don't play off spin well, and if Hauritz is turning like he is jeets would have been deadly.

I don't get why you plan to bat first and play one spinner! Especially when the coach adn capt are offbreak bowlers!

Have you noticed the NZ cricket team has had sh*t results ever since that prick Sonny Shaw started attending games at home and overseas??

Solution - NZ Cricket to take out a trespass notice against him and watch the results improve.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!
