Taylor will end with an average mid 40 by the end of his career, pretty confident of that. I think all 4 of Taylor, Ryder, Guptill and McCullum could end up with averages around there.
Taylor? You mean the same Taylor that gets out in the same fashion every time he goes out to bat? I highly doubt that.
I could maybe see Ryder getting near 40. Guptill no, McCullum definitely no.
Three for me, and two for them.

i think taylor will easilly end up with an average of mid 40s. ryder could get high 40s if he plays to his potential

Gutted, McCullum just put down a tough chance (diving right from an inside edge) off Katich.
The Basin is one place you can streak and get away with it here - make it across the field and if you can get to the embankment the crowd will often close in around you and you can get down the other side and vault the fence.

I don't blame the coach. I just honestly think this is the worst New Zealand team since the mid 90's. Our bowling averages are higher than our batting averages. Our seam bowling lineup has no penetration, our batting has no experience - other than Taylor how many matches have the rest of the top 4 played? - and with Vetorri at 6, Tuffey at 8, we have a long tail.

was anyone there today? a few kids playing wheely-bin cricket stole the show, most the embankment chanting for them once the cricket in the middle got boring.
and agree about the sh*t nz team, worst for a long time.

What is the point in Tim McIntosh?
I dont know what the point in McIntosh, Ingram or Guptill is, they all seem to have had a lot of chances but have never put together more than 1-2 good performances. i dont know anyone better tbh but it always seems like were bascialy 3 wickets down before we even go out to bat with them in the team.
I also wonder why Vettori bats so low in the order? seems like it would make sence if he was a few places ferther up. This way he could get some better patnerships on the go instead of having to try and keep NZ alive.

Ingram has had a lot of chances!? Its his 3rd match. Vetorri is batting at 6. That is fairly high. If he has to bat any higher that is a sad statement on the rest of our batsmen. For the balance of our lineup, we are much better with him at 8, and a good batting allrounder who can bowl as a 4th seamer to bat at 6.
McIntosh is a waste of space, I don't think Howe should ever have been dropped. Ingram deserves his chance on shear weight of first class runs over the past few seasons. He was sold down the river by McIntosh today, hopefully he gets a good chance next innings (probably later tomorrow the way we are looking!)aitkenmike2010-03-21 01:11:32
