Yeah how good is the wind? Blowing a roller must take some gale. "We've got the wind, the rain..."
Wellington is wonderful. Go the draw!

Rain. Our best player.

Bad Light. Another top player

We owe these two a lot. Combined they have earnt us the majority of our test draws down the years.

Three for me, and two for them.

dont forget Extras - hes scored more the Ingram, also without moving his feet...

Really impressed with McCullum here. He has been working hard to eliminate the stupid sh*t from his game (eg. Innings 1) and this is an innings that hopefully puts to rest the argument that he can only score against sh*t teams, or in situations where it doesn't matter.

Great day(not the weather, the cricket)IMO, Im picking McCullum to get his ton then just lose his grip and go aggresive and get caught in between 100-120.

The wind is definitely man of the match. Blowing away a few cameras meaning the Aussies couldn't have the technology on their referral was a great play. Hopefully wind is selected to represent us again in the next test.

Have to give credit where it is due, I am quick to bag McCullum when he plays brainless git type innings (like the 1st) so I should give him credit for today. Has played an outstanding innings, shown a good balance in terms of attack and defence and has been patient!

So B-Mac, well done! Kick on tomorrow for a big hundred mate. Also big ups to Tower.

the reason we have so many players that come in and fail is because our first class competition is sh*t, the gap to test cricket is huge. you can't blame the selectors for giving any of them a chance [or chances] because the fact is that they are the best we have right now. williamson is scoring a lot of runs but that's not enough to say it's his time. the difference is he's young, they have to be careful not to expose him to early

I agree with the above, just look at Jimmy Franklin, 162 against Canterbury in the latest round.

who would have thought it would have gone to day 5 and that it would still be interesting

It isn't that interesting. Only two results are possible (take a wild guess) and really we are relying heavily on the weather to help us out.

Three for me, and two for them.

Weather doesn't look like it's going to help too much down here Buffy. It's a nice day actually.

well we looked like we were guna have a heavy innings defeat and now we get the chance to see us bat on the 5th day and hopefully see b-mac get a well deserved 100

Yeah, I thought it would be over with 3 days at drinks in the 1st session of that 3rd day so to still be around on the 5th and to have made them bat again isn't all bad.

Hopefully these 2 can sneak us thru to a lead of 150 or 200 so at least we have something... SOMETHING to bowl at.

Who will get dropped for the hamilton test?

Im thinking Ingram and Southee for two batters, maby Sinclair and .......
Permalink Permalink
about 16 years ago · edited about 5 years ago · History

according to cricinfo, tuffey got an injured hand and is out fora number of weeks, probaly securing southee a spot.

My line up:

MacIntosh
Watling
Cumming
Taylor
Guptil
Sinclair/Patel
McCullum
Vettori
Southee
Arnel
Martin

If the pitch looks like a turner, go for Patel, because only in the spin department can we match them (obviously not where in sinclairs place in the order). If not go for skippy

What a shame for Tuffy being stranded on 47, thought he played really well, some very solid defense yesterday afternoon.

Any word on Ryder being back in time for Hamilton?

Didn't play for Wellington so can't see him being good to go for the test

dissapointed tuffey wont be playing, i thought he bowled ok and am very impressed with his batting, looks more comfortable than guys further up the order and could teach ingram a thing or two about footwork.

shall be going along to all 5 days of the hamilton test so hope they get up for it and give a competative showing

I've had it up to here with this shower of a cricket team.  Useless w**kers.  The lot of them.  Bring back Paddles!

I'd keep giving Ingram a chance until he gets two innings in a match without being run out by McIntosh. Sinclair in for Tuffey only change for me. Please please please no Cumming.
