And into the tail.

Don't know much about Arnel, but Gillespie is a genuine test 11 from what I have seen, and Martin is a genuine club 11.

Hard to see over 200 here. Potential to be sub 150.aitkenmike2012-03-15 17:09:21

Wow.

Pathetic.

Three for me, and two for them.

Wtf? Even by black caps standards that is quite a collapse.

185 all out on a pitch with no demons and 135/2 at one point. Just not good enough.

That collapse probably made someone very rich.

Allegedly

I thought people only got rich betting on events which weren't likely to happen?

Double counter bluff? - They think that everyone will think that there is no way they will do anything dodgy this match after the 'revelations' this week with the world watching which makes it the perfect time to do it.

Great catch from van Dyk.

A wee bit arrogant sending in the night watchman with half an hour to go.

Now we just need to run through Amla, Peterson, Kallis, de Villiers, Rudolph and Boucher early tomorrow morning to expose the tail  BarryZuckerkorn2012-03-15 19:31:20

Is there any more rain forecast? Get the feeling we'll need it.

Nope, clear blue skies for the next 3 days and then cloud on Monday. Not that I think the game will make it that far

Opta Sports ? @OptaJim

3 - New Zealand lost five wickets for no runs today, the third time in test history this has happened - all three by New Zealand. Forlorn.

I think it might be safer to avoid cricinfo at work today...

Only the third time a team has lost 5 wickets for no runs... And guess what NZ were the other two as well. Thats quite a record!

Gillespie gets Amla and Kallis. Maybe there is hope?

This is absolutely ridiculous, we could end up with a lead in the end.

88/6. I'm not sure what Gillespie had for breakfast, but I want some of it too!

Looking at the scorecard you would swear this was a Hamilton pitch circa the early 2000's

Are you watching this Tim Southee? This is how to bowl in test cricket

Not counting chickens yet. Boucher can bat and de Villiers is in good knick from the ODI's.

If we can get de Villiers out then we can try to get them all out for few runs.

That van Wyk/Gillespie partnership from yesterday assumes much greater significance as of right now.

A fantastic bowling performance to knock SA over for 250, but I think a 70 run lead will just be to much for us. To be competitive we need two guys to make hundreds. Taylor and McCullum both look capable, but can (a) the opening pair protect them a little bit, and (b) can they keep themselves focused for 5+ hours rather than for 2-3?

Not when we had them 88/6 it isn't.

Three for me, and two for them.

To be fair, one of those 6 was a nightwatchman, and the pitch was offering next to nothing.
