Yeah, it would be interesting. I've been to various events up here and spoken to some of the players and Wayne Scurrah and, while it wasn't really spoken about, reading between the lines it had a huge effect on everybody.
What kind of stuff do Warriors do for their members? Do you think the Phoenix could learn from anything they do?

Royal's heading back to Australia at the end of the season, from all accounts.

I think Lillyman will be coming off the bench as a prop.

Agree with you on Ben M having those offloads coached out of him, but I think he's gone quite well this year.
Oh thats a shame re Royal, he was developing nicely into a decent player.

I wonder if they are saving up the pennies to re-sign Manu. When are Jerome and Simon off-contract?

Yup, I've got a lot of time for Jesse. Helluva nice bloke,as well.

Simon and Jerome are contracted till the end of 2012

Word is that Ian Henderson has signed with the Catalans Dragins, so Mara might have a shot next season.
Thats interesting re Hendo. Obviously we are beginning to put a lot of faith in these young kids who have done so well at NYC level. Hopefully it pays off.

Just last night I was running through my head the number of guys that have made the transition from Under 20s to the full side - proof to me at least that the Toyota Cup is a good, meaningful competition that deserves to be kept (with potentially minor alterations) even though it costs a fair wedge to run.

Matulino, Locke, Packer, John, Ah Van and now Tupou (as well as Sonni Fai) have been through the system and retained by the club - sure some of them aren't superstars but have all proven their worth at some point or another. It's such a terrific opportunity for some of the young lads to get some experience playing top level league, along with the constant travel etc. that comes with top grade. You compare it to a lot of football clubs in Europe and thats a fair amount of young guys to come through a youth system to the first team squad in a few short years. It also highlights what the Phoenix could be missing out on.

That young hooker may well be the next cab off the rank.

Re what members get:

This is what members will get next season, in addition to the seat at 12 home games:
Membership pack with a cap, lanyard, cardholder, bumper sticker, sticker sheet and fridge magnet
Weekly eNewsletter
Invites to members only events
Merchandise discounts
Discounts with club sponsors
Exclusive access to members post match function
Priority purchasing for Finals, Grand Final and State of Origin tickets
Exclusive members players calendar
Members only day at Mt Smart
Pre-season publication
Members Player of The Year voting rights

This season we also had a members forum, with Wayne Scurrah, Dean Bell and Dan Burton (Marketing Boss) where we got the chance to say what we thought about what the club was doing for the members. That was followed by watching a training session then having a barbecue with the players and staff. It was a good night.

The dodgy forward pass call hurt us, but we should have taken the drop goal earlier when we had the opportunity, then we wouldn't have needed to try and score from our own goal line in the first place.

Henderson confirmed off to Catalans, cant say I will miss him. Still think we should have kept Gatis instead of bring Henderson over from England.

Shaping up for a big Friday night, Warriors v Broncos, followed by Roar v Nix.

Lockyer - out. If we cant win this game we don't deserve to be in the finals.

We will miss Lucks tackling for the remaining games.
Brisbane are ripe for the picking without lockyer.

I presume they see Mara as the second hooker going forward - this year both Henderson and Heremaia have had the same amount of time - this will change as they blood the young fella.

Liked what I saw of him on Saturday night on his debut.

Good stuff by the Beast.

I don't have a problem with him chewing up hunk of salary cap, he deserves every penny.

3 years more of the best winger in the league - awesome!

Queenslander 3x a year.

The sheer wonderfullness of this dawned on me just last night - it is going to be an outstanding evenings entertainment, us vs Brissy!

Yup, looking forward to it. Watch the Warriors do the Broncos and then a mad dash back down the Southern Motorway to get home and watch the Nix

24-0 up. 5 tries already.

Three for me, and two for them.

Missed a few conversions that would have been nice to add to that total.

Saw most of the second half and we looked good.  Really disappointed they scored but what can you do.

To be fair, Manu and J-Ro were sitting on the bench when Brisbane scored on that side. If those two had still been on they wouldn't have scored.

Great result. You have to hand it to the Warriors supporters. They now how to get behind their team. Over 25000 there. They always seem to get big crowds.
