you sure about Sail being in this team?
The point is, that there was a way around it. Either way, it looks like some common sense has prevailed.
Grumpy old bastard alert
Yup, my mistake, Sail shouldn't be in there. Revise that back down to 5.

Logan Rogerson, Tamupiwa Dimairo, James McGarry, Oliver Sail (GK), Sarpeet Singh, Ben Stroud.
Looks like 6 to me. No Mums.
Patrick's inside source has her numbers wrong again.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Nope, I just miscounted. All on me.
Somewhat embarrasingly, it was Schmiddy that put me right.

You should have bailed out of this 24 hours ago Paddy.
Well I should never have entered it

I think this is laughable ... And typical of our local governing body...
Capital football has obviously made a mistake by rescheduling the game from last week in the first place.
Now they are trying to make amends ... Aka make a hash of it further using their 'best' comms.
And in doing so are leaving a sour taste for everyone.
I'm not annoyed at either club for voicing their opinion and I am happy they have both taken a stand.
My question is - when are Capital going to stop making illogical decisions and then make matters worse with knee-jerk cover up decisions??
Common sense ain't very common - especially at the top...
Guess they learn from the best at NZF!
How fudgeed off must Wellington United be? As a club, not first team. Would've got plenty if people to Newtown for it but now Petone get them all!
1-0 United 20 mins played in second half

well done Nix.

Chances of a North Wellington style appeal? Come on Feverish, roll out the lawyers. Must be some sort of technicality to draw on!
No playoff with Tawa. Tawa are straight down. United to play Team Taranaki over two legs for spot in Central League.
Can Karori afford to keep same squad for another shot in 2016?
saw 60 mins, wasn't that impressed by the nix kids they looked alright knocked the ball around with a bit of zip but no players looked anywhere near professional level to be honest. Only thing that gave away it was welly United was the usual Orange kit otherwise it could have been anyone. Not a case of sour grapes but I'm not quite sure what diamonds get out of the arrangement essentially selling out their club to the nix, can't say I would be over the moon if I was welly United man.

Fuck this stupid game
just an opinion first time I've seen the nix kids play , coincidence
regardless of the result I would make the same comment about selling out to the Phoenix
How is the arrangement with Wellington Phoenix any different or worse than a club buying semi pro journeymen with pokie money-players who win honours for the club then move on with zero qualms? I would think United are getting quite
a bit out of the deal. Access to quality coaching, administration
First team costs partly covered by Wpx allowing club funds to be redistributed to women's or juniors.

If you only watched until the 60th minute, then your views on the game (regardless of which club you were supporting, or if you were a neutral) will be very different than if you watched the full 90. Both teams played VERY different football in the last half hour, during which the game was almost completely different to what happened in the first half (during which, I almost completely agree with Horsehead21, Wellington United were not very impressive, and Karori definitely had the upper hand).
The game had three distinct phases, and from a spectactor's point of view, they provided very different experiences.
Listen to #PhoenixCity next week for a full report. I am sure Cam and I will have plenty to discuss from this one.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

I noticed that the margins on the Wellington United games got progressively tighter throughout the season. In the first round they were winning games 10-0 but that seemed to change in the second round.
I'm interested to know what the difference was. A case of United getting complacent, the other teams in the league upping their game, or the other teams finding a way to neutralise United? Or all of the above?
Also - how good are Team Taranaki? Who do people pick to win the playoff for CL?
I do have strong feelings about the Nix takeover of Wellington United (my childhood club) but I will put them in another thread after the playoffs.
I can Garuntee if a similar thing happened at karori or North welly I'd find someone else to go watch. To me it's not what local football amateur football is about, it's about the club.
Horseheads right. If a team cannot go back to their own clubbies for a beer or sprite then they aren't part of the club Regardless of the team
capital football get their wish... yeah right.
rescheduling the match for the same weekend as NZA v Phoenix - I'm surprised a couple of the boys even played!
I'm keen to understand more of this 'takeover' of WU from re Nix. The last time I looked, United had 500+ playing members, but only 15 of them play in the Men's First Team. Is that what people are considering a takeover? Seriously?
And 'sell out'? That's even funnier than the 'takeover' tag.
Well done Wellington United for taking the Premiership title out today.

Fewer games on turfs.
Newtown Park was out of action with the U20's at the start of the season so United played pretty much all of their games on turf. United looked nowhere near as good on grass, the turf's really suited their quick break style of play and Logan Rogerson in particular was better on turf as opposed to grass.
Part of me thinks this is the reason why United may have requested the game be played at Petone rather than on Newtown.
Yellow Fever - Misery loves company
It's my understanding that United were basically forced to go that way for financial reasons. The club was battling to keep it's head above water for years and it was getting worse each season. It wasn't popular with the players who had invested a few years into the first team as you would expect. It's definitely unfortunate that they had to do it and lose good players/people as a result but I think it was their only option
