went to endeavour park this afternoon great weather an outstanding pitch as always , but very boring game until wests scored goal of the season so far as the young kid beat a couple of players then did I think it's called the maradonna turn to beat another couple to finish it off with a strike from outside of the box into the top corner. Which then turned out to be the winning goal as it finished 1-0. North Wellington had nothing to offer apart from the long ball .

i was told it was a Zadane turn by the people i talked too but they both agreed it was the best individually constructed and executed goal they had seen and they had watched lots of football over the years.

so maybe some individual flare is poking it's head out from the ol'e crowed?

a interesting weekend looming.

local derby at redwood on the grass pitch that keeps giving.

and the top of the table clash at karori park.

local advantage may be the key for some of the teams in this grade and I for one like to see the clubs with grass and/or sand base grounds get some possible advantage as I feel the team who plays the best in all conditions should prevail and take top spot anyway.

Very interesting weekend considering Karori's suspension and injury hangover from the Cup. Should've never entered!

Haha in hindsight you are right! You better make sure you have competent officials in your cup games or just bend over and take it!

thats football and always will be i hope.

you just bend over and take it and get ready for next week.

and hope things improve with time and training.

not like some i know who cry foul of other clubs and then when they do similar call it the rub of the green.

11 team debacle not the best time for fair play and  just take your medicine and move on.

but at the end of 90 or end of a season as they say"kay sera sera" and thats football and we love it cause it give so much to rant about on forums like this.

more good results for Wharf!

KCU pasted Brooklyn in the other result.  Arrived quite late and assummed it was close because the last 20 looked even but then asked a Brooklyn supporter who said they were down 5-0.

Ouch.

Norths beat BNU 5-0, was only 1-0 at half time.

North's was a Wellington football club that merged with Brooklyn to create Brooklyn northern united or BNU.

i think the guy mean's North wellington

and BNU ended with 10 in the match.

No that was Northern (named as the original members came from Northern China), Norths are a rugby club based in Porirua

Played on Redwood before this match and it was in surprisingly good nick and held up well.

i think you will find they are called Northern united rugby football club. And Norths is a abbreviation and i think the same abbreviation was also used for the old AFC club that merged with Brooklyn years ago.

Norths is the nickname of the rugby club

from speaking to people that played for Northern AFC, they were called Norths as much as North Wellington is

Given all the rain that fell up to and including Saturday, to have two games played with no issues would be pleasing for Tawa. They had their field re-laid at the beginning of last season so it appears that it has been successful. In years gone by the pitch would be stuffed by this time of year.
