we had another good win against wainui, went up strong in the first half 4-0 after about 30 minutes, then sort of dropped off for the rest of the game, got the one goal in the second half where wainui came back very strongly, they have improved ten fold from last years and have a variety of handy players across the park, they will continue to upset teams for the season. chatham cup this weekend against olympic, going to be a very tough game but we will give it everything and olympic will have to be prepared to work very hard to take anything away from us

Had a win over Karori 1 nil. To say that the number 1 pitch is a travesty is being generous. How we got moved onto it is beyond me.

But we both played on it, and the weather was the winner on the day. Just really glad to pinch a win while also getting in a 400 metre swim!

I heard Stokes Valley moved Thursdays training to the Stokes Valley Indoor Pool. After viewing the long range forcast, training in the infants pool which has about 6 inches of water would replicate the playing surface at the UPGRADED Karori " pool " No 1'. Must have work as they got the result.

Probably a fair call their chopper - although the Waterside firsts haven't been playing that well of late - just check the results!

Preety massive weekend in Capital 1, Naenae losing 2 weeks in a row 2-0. Olympic just getting past Petone. It's all getting very interesting now!

yep a great result for Welly U. We are pleasantly surprised. Anyone who saw the game want to give a rundown?

Permalink Permalink

sort of. What i really wanted to know was, was we good/was Naenae bad/was we lucky/was ref sh*te or was there a combo of all these?

I really did just 'see' the speeches.  I was trying to hide from Kingy in case he asked me to do the Masters one, so I saw them being made but didn't hear them.

I was told we were a bit average, plus missing Paul Wheeler which didn't help.  Monkey Boy may have some views but he could be biased.

Ok I'll go for a combo with a bias toward the first ingredient.

ok i'll try be a bit unbiased, too be honest, you guys are definitely not the hardest team we have played, however we played very very poorly and you guys turned up and really gave it everything to your credit...That 2nd free kick that you guys scored cuz our keeper muffed it was given because I absolutely hammered your striker in the box in a good tackle than said two words to him "get up" apparently you can't do that... you guys stuck it out and we deserved to lose though from our poor performance. btw tell your main striker to pass the ball and you could have had a couple more!

If that striker is who I think he is then not passing is the reason he's playing 2nds not 1sts. Doesn't sound like he's learnt his lesson! Thanks for the report.

Was a good free kick though. Lol yeah that ref gave me a yellow card for descent and I ACTUALLY didn't say anything, I couldn't believe it! Bit rediculous for $35

watched the olympic vs. petone game,
Thought was good classic footy game on wonderful pitch of Newtown 2

Minus the petone player that spat on the olympic player because he got nut-meg

olympic now 6 wins on the troot.

nzsoccerscoreboard.com reports that Wainui beat Welly U 3-1 but was actually the other way...so their table is also false, obviously.

I was gonna say...Welly U  beat Naenae away only 2 weeks ago. To be fair we didn't look that good on Sat v Wainui but we stil scored 3 good goals and gave away a shocker. Nth Wgtn this weekend though, will be interesting.

sorry to say diamonds but I expect northern to beat you guys, we had a scrappy game versus stokes valley, 2-1 final result, was really a tight game until about 5 minutes out our right winger placed a free kick straight on the keeper the wind pushed it around a bit and put it in the back of the net, wasn't really a great day for football neither team had out and out chances but was more a battle in the midfield. back to petone next week, think they will be looking to get some credibility on us over their first round score

Naenae were good last year, are the asian duos still playing for them, guys originally from Upper Hutt?
