Think Rapa will beat Wests, they're much more solid in defence now with Kaltack and Coad at fullback and Allan and Hall-Jones in central defence. Midfield is strong with Cameron Lindsay, Cory Chettleburgh and Alex Risdale, and arguably the best front three in the league in Ifill, Mason-Smith and Hajdari. That's some line up, and should be too strong for Wests. If Rapa win I see them going on to win the league. They seem a far stronger and cohesive unit this season. They're also getting good crowd numbers at Memorial Park.

agree with most of what you say about Rapa but have you watched Wests this season? They play a very high tempo quick passing game and keep the ball away from the opposition and they have started to shoot from further out (unlike last season), although the still do try to walk the ball over the line. They are a very strong squad and even when they lose a couple of players back to the US college's I doubt that's going to hurt them much. I wouldn't say the winner of this game will go on to win the league, but I think the winner of the league will be one of these 2 teams

This will be a very interesting game, definitely game of the round

When I watched Miramar/Wests at Davey F, Miramar were at their best (and caused Wests plenty of trouble) playing a counter attacking (essentially long ball) game, bypassing the Wests pressing midfield and attacking at pace. I reckon this'll be 'Rapa's tactic also.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Yep saw Rapa play Wests, which Rapa won. Quite impressed with Wests but physically they lacked what Rapa have in players like Chettleburgh who is an uncompromising general in their midfield, ably supported by Lindsay and Risdale. If Rapa can get plenty of ball to their front three then I'd pick Rapa to win by at least 2. Hajdari the Swedish striker has pace like I've not seen the likes of in the CL before. He's also got great feet and awareness. I'll go Rapa to win 3-1, goals to Hajdari, & Mason-Smith (2).

Capital Football announced this week that Taranaki are waiting on the outcome of a player eligibility appeal to New Zealand Football. If unsuccessful, Taranaki will lose three points and that could send them to last place. Some nervous folks in New Plymouth and Avalon will be watching the letterbox for that decision.

Confirmed that TT are waiting on the outcome of a player eligibility appeal. http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/sport/9374819...

Yep, was four nil at half time. Miramar did better second half then two late goals including a 93min to TT to blow it out more.

Watched this.  Rangers had a few out through injuries and suspension plus Jackson and Bevin from TWs getting rests.  In saying that, TT were by far the better side, looking dangerous throughout, their finishing was sublime, finding lots of space, particularly their number 7 (didn't get name), who was MOM for mine

Been some twitter rumblings of inappropriate and homophobic abuse from Olympic fans directed at United tonight.  Anyone there who can shed some light on this.  If true, CF need to be told

Along with two red cards and bench of Olympic acting up, appears supporters weren't any better https://twitter.com/iluvnix17/status/8759815823302...

Will Olympic ever sort their shark out with their supporters? I remember a long time ago one of our Sudanese lads having monkey noises made at him after being sent off. It's an absolute joke and it's usually the same people every year.

Yep, I can picture the exact spot at the park where I bet that abuse came from.

I will be writing a piece on what I witnessed at Olympic last night. I will also be making a complaint to Capital Football.

It was absolutely disgraceful.

It is amazing to me that (20 years after the suicide of Justin Fashanu), "homo" and "faggot" are still used as banter in NZ football, when if it weren't for the gay ladies we wouldn't HAVE a Women's Prem. And the Greeks invented it, anyway.

Calling the goalkeeper a "fudgeing c*nt" (on multiple occasions), a faggot and a homo. Calling the referee a cheat.

That is disgraceful and takes a giant leap over the mark not just a step.

What has Fashanu got to do with it?

His suicide was because of an allegation in the USA wasnt i? Nothing to do with abuse endured due to his sexual orientation.

This.

I saw the following tweet today; and I note the Wests ressies held Cap Prem league leaders Petone to a 1-1 draw yesterday too. So that must be +25 players U20 at Wests, who are doing pretty good. Something in the water?

Kotahitanga. We are one.

Double standards. One set of rules for the Anglo-Saxons and the other set for everyone else. Not just the Greeks. I hate talking about the refs and their bad decisions, but it is now quite clear that there is anti-Olympic sentiment out there. The refs performance in the Olympic-Wests and Olympic-WU is way beyond the sport only. Blatant robbery that will go unpunished unfortunately.

And this "cry wolf' thing about Olympic and their supporters is just disgusting. It is OK to say that the Olympic home games are at "Souvlaki dome", but their supporters using the F word when their team is clearly robbed is a lot worse than hearing the same F word at just about every other CL game all the time. And no, I am not a Greek, or a member of the Olympic board fyi...

if I heard homophobic abuse at any other ground I would also call it out. I know I<3nix would too, in fact has called out poor language on an ITBOTN blog during the ASBP season. So your claim of double standards is absolute rubbish.

As I said earlier, I can picture exactly where that abuse will have come from, as I have heard (and commented on) other abuse coming from there on a fair few occasions I have visited Wakefield. What that also means is it is clearly a subsection of the supporters, rather than representative of Olympic supporters as a whole. It'd be good to see the club/fans/players try to correct or at least condemn the behaviour of the subsection rather than cry double standards every time someone says something bad about an aspect club (or a refereeing decision doesn't go their way).
