How rough is the Chatham Cup draw on CL2 sides. Playing 2 games in 3 days, many of whom have to travel as well. Then I see that some teams have been able to defer their league games but others have not.

Certainly tough if you have two away games.
I prefer it when it’s an Easter double header and you get the two day recovery
How are we all feeling about games this weekend - moving weekend in terms of the table, I suspect.
1. Lower Hutt to extend their lead at the top 2 TK to cement their place at the bottom 3. Western (2nd) down to Stop Out (8th) to define a top half and bottom half of the table

C'mon Seatoun! (or Sea Town as Paddy Gower pronounced it on Radio NZ this morning. Prick.)
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him. Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe. 20/5/20
I went to watch Stop Out (2) v Douglas Villa (1) last weekend. Decent game. Both sides really putting in the effort. Villa were 2-0 up very early on. Stop Out went 2-1 up very very late in the match and straight from the restart Villa attacked. Villa player had a decent shot and Stop Out's keeper produced one very fine save. Three points earned.

Shocking scenes at Stop Out today. If the weather and the pitch conditions weren’t bad enough, 2 Palmy Marits players thought it was ok to throw fists. They were 1-1 and playing well at that point, hard to play with 9 men for 60mins.
Finished 5-1 with Palmy Marist finishing the game with 8 players.
I have to note that a Stop Out coach was red carded also.

Would assume that would carry a decent ban if they have punched an opponent. What caused it, a reaction to a challenge?

From what I saw, there was a foul on Tuck and they both fell to the ground. While on the ground Tuck pushed the oppositions face into the grass/mud, which cased the reaction. Tuck got a yellow for his involvement.
Completely agree with the predictions of placing in this article. It’s a shootout between Lower Hutt and Stop Out, which Stop Out will probably win due to their current form. And TK are done, they look most likely to be relegated

Who do we think will come up?
Not sure if Marist or Vic would take on cl2 given the travel etc - Marist opted out last year. Wainui v whatever side is top of central?

Whanganui Athletic have bought the Western Prem with a bunch of foreign imports, but they couldn't get out of their own half against PN Marist in the Chatham Cup. They'd have a two legged playoff versus winners of Eastern Prems first - really tight at top over that way, four teams within 3 points of each other.
The rumours down at this level are that Athletic are in a bit of difficulty if they don't go up - supposedly the gift loan for their flash new clubrooms gets called in if they don't make Central League by 2027. Combine them splashing the cash along with generally being dickheads they have not made any friends this year.

So Wainui could finish last and still get promo?
Concievable, but i don't believe they will finish last.
Havelock North are currently leading the Eastern Premiership. They seem to be getting stronger as the season progresses. Gisborne Thistle who are also trying for the playoffs have dropped points the last few weeks.
It is a tight league, which might help the side that does get to contest the playoff.
Either way, I think the Cap Prem side that goes through would still be a clear favourite to be promoted.
New Plymouth based and usually play out of Lynmouth Park (although they have played a few games at Taranaki Stadium this year).
As the name suggests it's 'territory' pretty much covers Western New Plymouth from the Central City out to Spotswood/Omata on the city fringes.
Historically speaking it's been New Plymouth Rangers that have been the Taranaki team of any note, but things have changed the past five or so years and now FC Western sort of rules the roost so to speak. They are well backed for this level and they're ambitious as well.

Cheers. So is it a case of Westen filing the void of rangers not having the nuts/ambition/$?

New Plymouth is my adopted home town, so I can only speak on what I've seen the past 10-12 years.
When I first moved here Rangers were the club that had the money and resources in the region. The biggest factor going against the region football wise is the 'isolation' - 3 hours to Hamilton and 2 hours to Whanganui and not much else in between. That said, there is still a lot of cash floating around in the sports scene down here.
Anyway, Rangers had a big share of the purse in the football scene up until about five years ago, backed by a decently wealthy publican who has since sold up his business, retired, and stepped back from the game somewhat (he is still involved in the game, but just to a lesser extent nowadays).
All that did really was create a void just waiting to be filled and so up stepped FC Western. A lot of businesses/business owners and pretty well healed people have since jumped in with the club, and well they are a pretty young and ambitious crowd, so as much as they can they want to make a bit of noise while they're here.
I could speak for days about the state of the game down these ways, but that pretty much covers the goings on of recent times.

We've done well off the back of farming, meat, cheese, oil + gas and some manufacturing/engineering.
Decent place to live, but a bit of a footballing wilderness. Hopefully this will change over the next little while.
Seems like FC Western won and the league is in their hands. Lower Hutt down in fourth with Western up next too. Formwise it'll be hard to see Western not get first, however will be good for the Central League if a Capital based team gets relegated for a Central based team.Tyler
Lower Hutt losing their way. FC western go out the front if they win tomorrow huh. Such a tight league.

Anyone know who the new Seatoun coach is
Lower Hutt this weekend and PNU next weekend - Two sides that for two of the three losses this season. So if we can get up in either game it will be a big step forward.
As they say though, one game at a time. Would be bloody good for the region if they can keep up this run and get us into the Central League 🤞
