Who ends up going up and down from cap prem and cap 1? (Apart from Nui)

My understanding is:
CL2 - Nui up TK down
Cap Prem - UH and Greytown up, VIC and IBU down
Cap 1 - Wests and Well Utd* up, Miramar and Karori* down

* maybe a playoff

Wainui win 4-1. What a meltdown by Whanganui.

Last week after winning the first leg 3-1, there was a face book page of Whanganui celebrating in the changing room as if they already had promotion when in reality it was only halftime.

Given how DV went, don't be surprised if Greytown gives CL2 promotion a nudge.

Coach merry go round continues in this league.

Kale Herbert to TK
Scott Easthope to Lower Hutt
James Sutcliffe leaves Stop Out

Has Seatoun got a coach?

I'll put my hand up. I live in Auckland but I'd be happy to relocate, to say Karaka Bay, or Falkirk St, or any of those cute Scottish-named little streets surrounding that cute little footie pitch, that excellent local chippie. Rent-free of course. Don't require large coin, happy with the current CL2 emolument. No coaching quals whatsoever but I was once Most Improved for Karori Swifts plus my mate plays golf with Seatoun leg end Graham Bilby, plus have loadsa passion for the game plus experience working under past CL2 coach not to mention past coach of Real Madrid, Juve, Partisan Belgrade, NZ national team, etc, etc...  I can be contacted via this platform any time.

If you got Karori Swifts most consistent player you’d be over qualified

Been a while since I checked on the CL2, do we know which team is being promoted into the league next season?

Been a while since I checked on the CL2, do we know which team is being promoted into the league next season?

New teams in CL2 next season are North Wellington who were relegated from CL1 and Wainuiomata who beat Whanganui Athletic 5-3 on aggregate in the play off - Wainui lost the first leg 3-1 before beating Athletic 4-0 in the second leg

That’s late to be stepping down. Wonder if they have a replacement

Thought it was odd too, maybe they are about to announced the new coach and realized they hadn't acknowledged the last one.

That ad was weird, DoF and head coach advertised, but the head coach only needing a C licence?  that would mean the DoF would have to sit on the bench every weekend.

I’d heard that the New Plymouth team isn’t taking up the Central League 1 spot and so North Wellington are staying up?

They’d be banned from CL and the playoff loser goes up

what playoff? It's straight promotion \ relegation between Central 1 & 2
Palmerston North United finished 2nd so I'd imagine they would be offered the place if FC Western withdraw

Also would mean that Whanganui Athletic (who did lose a playoff to get into Central 2) would be offered a place in Central 2

imagine turning down CL to still do the travel required by CL2!?!

Their reserves defaulted a game in Palmy because they couldn't afford to travel.

They are a tiny club who don't even have a women's team. Don't appear sustainable in the long run.

Disappointed seems mild. In my opinion if a club without ambition reneges on its obligations they should be fined and turfed back into Sunday league footie.

yeah I agree. It's always annoyed me how a club is allowed to enter the league win promotion and then decide if they want to be promoted or not, like what's the actual point?

Have they given a reason for not wanting to go up? Is it a financial thing?

financial reasons is usually the excuse right? additional travel costs and fees I assume.

It's a shame for Football in the Taranaki. It seems to be one of a decreasing number of places where Rugby rules.

So dumb that a club would just turn down promotion. With all due respect why are you here then? Let an actually ambitious club have your spot in CL2 if you're just gonna sit on it

Probably a consideration.

Anywhoo, I have asked those more in the know than me around the place to see what they can tell me in the meantime.

Look, FC Western's socials of last year were all about celebrating promotion, so if this is true (and I've seen nothing but an unsupported post here on the subject), there must have been a financial collapse?

We must have got a discount - last year NCR paid $12,500 + GST.  That fee is across all Central, Southern and Northern League entrants and covers travel in the later National round, oops, National League.

Yeah- i think the 20k fee is for the proposed winterised national league.

I have seen a draft Central League draw that includes FC Western so I doubt it to be true.

I am aware they were considering it but thought they had made the decision
