I don't think you'll find that was the case at all, our coach had a go at the ref for carding one of our sudanese lads after he said thank you to the ref when he gave a foul our way our coach was annoyed because perhaps the ref felt he was being sarcastic but completely impossible because all those lads are nothing but polite and humble and he would of just been saying thank you as a serious gesture to the ref

Yeah monkeyboy and Drogba isn't saying that the ref was right. I agree your player shouldn't have got a yellow card but end of the day it was just a yellow and it didn't change the game. Maybe your coach could gone up to the ref and spoke to him instead of swearing at all the officials and calling the ref a racist. That's a bit over the top. I don't think he is a racist, he just probably didn't think of the different cultures. But like I say it's a yellow no need for that crap after the game. As for the rest of the game maybe the coach should look at himself before blaming the ref the whole time. He definately doesn't help himself nor the teams sake.
Suggestion - coach calm down and get off the refs back and maybe the team will get a few more calls.

yea i was their and ref got it wrong but your players didnt help the case by continuing to argue with the ref,i just herad the ref going on at the end of the game how he'll be reporting your coach to cap soccer, which bit over the top i say

Didn't see it, didn't hear it, but is it over the top to report somebody who apparently swears at you and publicly accuses you of being a racist? Hmm......
Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Hope Alex is gonna be ok - never good to see anyone in that much pain.
The tackle looked clean as a whistle from where we were, just a bit of
bad luck - poor fella. He'll bounce back hopefully.
Well played Wharfies and all the best with the injuries and the rest of the season - it aint much fun trying to contend with "The Rock McKinlay", even for my 20 minute cameo!
I'm gonna enjoy my week off from football, god bless the Chatham Cup.

Stop Out/Miramar. bit average really. SO's goal was a cracker though. Smart cross with a SOUND HEADER!!!!
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Yeah but Endo flattened McKinlay with a leading arm that could've KO'd a lesser man.....but mighty Mike just got up and brushed it off as if nothing had happened....classic!
I don't think there was anything wrong with the tackle that broke Alex's leg.....just unfortunate and poor timing by both going in hard....something had to give. He was brave as, showed great composure under pain while waiting for the ambo.....

Heard the Mar were dominant against a very poor, very young wests ressies! 3.0 final score but could and probably should have been 7 or 8. Unless the first team intervene they should be favourites to go down!

What happened to all the players from last week that played against Island Bay. I watched that game and Wests looked quite useful and only had one maybe two first team players.

WTF - Kapiti??!?!?
And how the hell did IB beat UH. OK they beat it last week, but it took some goalkeeping greatness and a damn generous penalty from the ref
Good on Stop Out to really throw a spanner in the works

Yip I have to admit I got that wrong. We were winning 1-0 at halftime with Pete Withers scoring from his head again. We weren't really troubled at all first half even though Stop Out would have had 65% possession maybe and they played better football. Second half again Stop Out had more possession and we played no football and we decided not to defend and let through four second half goals. Stop Out played very well and thoroughly deserved the win.

Obviously major problems at KCU. They lost their coach, Steve Edwards before the start of the season. Sean Kelly is trying run the 1st, 2nd and women's teams. 8-0 at this level is quite an embarassment. Even Brooklyn, when they only won 1 game a few years back never got spanked that bad. Could be a long season for them.

yeah i have to be honest, even though the score line might not have reflected it, when we played KCU they were by far the worst team we have played so far.
As for yesterdays game, I really thought we dominated Lower Hutt for good periods of the game, they played with a very deep line and caught our strikers out offside numerous times, played very clever at the back but were quite slow to turn around when needed, a quick team off the break but we managed to contain them as they were really only playing one up front at most points. We had a couple of good chances with our centre midfielder first heading one into the ground that bounced over and then a 22yard screamer that hit the upright and crossbar on the right hand side. We finally caught them napping at the back off a freekick a quick ball through to Simon Hall who finished nicely with his left foot.
Hutt were very unlucky not to equalise at the end a parried freekick from our keeper fell to miguel who put it over from about six yards but Benji had put very good pressure on him to put him off the shot. Hutt will need to watch their discipline in games to come, felt they were quite lucky not to get a couple sent off alot of very wayward tackles in the game on their behalf but probably mainly out of frustration.
Good game all around :)

Monkeyboy,In who's opinion were the tackles wayward? did they get cautioned for the taclkes or did the referee have a different opinion or view of the tackles from what you did?

There were a couple of cautions, but a couple were also let go that I felt were worse than the ones cautioned for. Up to the ref at the end of the day though, he was pretty consistent in the end.

Monkey Boy, you fail to mention the times were you were also being dominated by lower hutt and how you were probably lucky no to conceede on afew occasions most notabaly the one you do mention but lets be fair that was all of maybe 3 yards out and had all the time in the world to put that away, at training tonight we will put that player in the same situation and ask him to put the ball over the bar like he did in the game and I bet he scores, haha.
Awsome game to play in tho and I bet to watch also, alot of blown chances and some pretty average challenges to be fair from our side mainly to, definitly could have been a couple more cautions but the referee did well considering the circumstances.

Yeah Easty you guys did get on top of us as well at points, your formation worked well at times really made it difficult work for our midfielders. I think Miguel should definitely get a few dick of the days for that miss lol. You guys don't really deserve to be where you are on the table. Was awesome to play against you, been a long time since played alongside you back in the College days haha! Good luck for the rest of the season bro looking forward to coming down to Bell Park to play you, mainly because I live about 100metres away and I can walk home after :D
