yeah i have to be honest, even though the score line might not have reflected it, when we played KCU they were by far the worst team we have played so far.
As for yesterdays game, I really thought we dominated Lower Hutt for good periods of the game, they played with a very deep line and caught our strikers out offside numerous times, played very clever at the back but were quite slow to turn around when needed, a quick team off the break but we managed to contain them as they were really only playing one up front at most points. We had a couple of good chances with our centre midfielder first heading one into the ground that bounced over and then a 22yard screamer that hit the upright and crossbar on the right hand side. We finally caught them napping at the back off a freekick a quick ball through to Simon Hall who finished nicely with his left foot.
Hutt were very unlucky not to equalise at the end a parried freekick from our keeper fell to miguel who put it over from about six yards but Benji had put very good pressure on him to put him off the shot. Hutt will need to watch their discipline in games to come, felt they were quite lucky not to get a couple sent off alot of very wayward tackles in the game on their behalf but probably mainly out of frustration.
Good game all around :)
Monkey Boy, you fail to mention the times were you were also being dominated by lower hutt and how you were probably lucky no to conceede on afew occasions most notabaly the one you do mention but lets be fair that was all of maybe 3 yards out and had all the time in the world to put that away, at training tonight we will put that player in the same situation and ask him to put the ball over the bar like he did in the game and I bet he scores, haha.
Awsome game to play in tho and I bet to watch also, alot of blown chances and some pretty average challenges to be fair from our side mainly to, definitly could have been a couple more cautions but the referee did well considering the circumstances.
