"From Capital 1 playing for Naenae to the Phoenix???  Wake me up!!"

Huttboy i seen that lad play and i would have to say he was one of the most skilfull players i have seen in NZ. That does not mean i think he could play for the nix. But the lad came out because Naenae got him.  that does not mean the lad as less quality. if Lower Hutt or Miramar would have brought him out does that imply he would have had a chance of playing for the nix. Hopfully you will wake up.

Did you ever see him play?  He would not look out of place in a phoenix shirt!

I dunno about the Phoenix, but he was well good for Premier/Central League. I dreaded playing in goal more against him then I did against Raf when he got dropped into the Olympic 2nd team

It would of be great to see him early last season on a dry hard pitch.  He only came over for the 2nd half of the season when the naenae pitch was a mud bath.

"Wharfies 7 wahts going on up the coast? anyone know"
The problem with KCU is that unfortunately they've lost all their experienced guys from last year, the coach from the start of the year, and the Cain boys after the coach left. So what you've got left is a young team that won't talk on the field, doesn't think they can score, goes a goal behind and gives up and then starts moaning with eachother. Simple recipe for relegation.

What about Hutchins, Sargent,Rayner they not young, they been around awhile .

Hutchins plays in the 2nd team, Rayner is always injured so that leaves Sargent and Faye as the only guys close to 30 in the team.

great come from behind win for the Wharf. Down 2-0 (nice goal from Le Prou and free kick to Rooker) then bounced back. Buckle with the equaliser and Macca with the winner.
UH suddenly began to fetch the match balls when they were behind after we had to go and get them before that. great trick.
Good vibe in their clubbies after - Ali James on mic doing a good job of mentioning everyone supporting their club. Welcomed their new Yank striker.

If Karl's touch on the sideline at Tawa Coll's 1st XI game this morning was any guide I'd say it was Stevie.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Steve grabbed 3 though he was outdone by the master Pete who netted 4.

Another unlucky loss for us yesterday, both goals from Stop Out coming from errors from our team. First goal a freekick given near our box for what was actually a great tackle but don't think the ref liked how hard it was, wouldn't tell me why he gave it either. Freekick went straight down the middle and over our keepers head. 1-0 at the half. Second goal came off a corner, second phase went to their centre back who drilled it into the post went through our right backs legs and into the goal. Pegged one back soon after a corner which our Sudanese striker finished off after rolling along the goal line from a shot from our left winger. Rest of the half spent attacking SO but just couldn't find the back of the net a couple of cracker shots from Henders and Si Hall was also unlucky not to score. Playing at the back of the park I don't really think we were threatened at all in the second half most of the game was spent in the middle of the park and down the other end. Good win for SO makes it six wins on the trot for them. Are a very handy team think they are well in it to win the league.

What on earth has happened to KCU???

Lowet hutt city 4 - 3 over Wests
Permalink Permalink

In some less than average weather, Wests played some great football with a lot of young kids playing and had numerous chances but only managed to bag 3. Ethan Caine played very well and Jon Harahap still has that class we've all come to admire. Truth be told they could have scored 5 or 6 but some desperate defending saw us through in the end - 1 scrappy goal and 3 well taken finishes from the men in Yellow.

By no means our best footballing performance, but a great result against a team stacked with young talent. Another lower-table clash this week against Rayner (if he's not injured), Ashford and co from the Kapiti Coast - let the climb continue!

TB21

PS. Much love to D.Rogerson for a fantastic aftermatch speech and to Hilly for putting on a great feed afterwards - keep up the good work lads. Bets of luck till we see you at Bell Park later on in the year.

He did say 1 scrappy goal, that was his sentimental goal. Kissed the Lower Hutt emblem on his shirt, thank goodness he didnt take it off and scare the little children (Wests Players).

scrappy nightz? i think you'll find placing one from 18 yards with my left peg far from scrappy!

We played against 2-3 kids i coached back in the day (Head, Cooper) - good to see they've developed and become good footballers - slightly sentimental but i never played for Wests in that red/black kit so it wasn't as sentimental as it could have been - I prefer the red and blue of years gone by.

Game vs Kapiti will be a cracker! In the words of Guido Hatzis "Mate mate mate, lishin......I dell yoo iss gonna pee a gate kame"
