I can understand it not being available this weekend for the Central league match as there is already games being played on Hullena 1. However, next weekend is the semi finals of the local knockout competition, and there is only one game booked across the 2 fields, so MAFC may make Hullena 1 available next weekend. Also heard that the Central league game this weekend is to be played at Carterton on the number 3 pitch.

Spoken to a couple of players from the Wai united frist team last night and they said that they are down to play on the No#1 pitch at Carterton. I would of thought they would be playing on 3,as it hasnt had much football on it this year.

I see in the Doom Post that Keinzley has asked to play at Nairnville Turf. ARF

But was that venue posted before or after CF found out Rapa fields unplayable ?
Is there still a possibility this will be played in Welly ?

I would be surprised if there are no fields in the 'Rapa for this game to be played. Can imagine it will be politics that forces them to transfer. Comparing Wellington fields in July to 'Rapa fields in July is a no contest.

Still better than the paddocks around Wellington at this time of year.

Have to say, I am amused at the tactics being used by Mr K over this issue.
Great publicity for the game, sympathy votes coming in, a chance to get a bit of public pressure behind his request to get local councils to look after Football fields and not just the rugby ones, and a bit of uncertainty for the Aucklanders.
What chance a road block on the Rimutakas caused by the roadworks just to panic the visitors a bit more.

Oh the joys of bus trips over the hill. Go the Rapa

not the first time Keinzley has tried to rark up the council by threatening something then doing an about face

Good from Phil.

But after thinking about it I wish he hadn't warned the westies about the disease-ridden changing rooms, the shock of it could have caused a stir.

Big FAIL Feverish.

Moving the game to Carterton sticks it right up the Masterton City Council. Carterton is not part of Masterton CC area.

That is correct Traveller, but truth be told, what is the Masterton City Council threatened with? The loss of not having Phil on their case every week about grounds and where they should be playing. From a MDC point, they may be more relieved that he has moved it to Carterton. Let them deal with it. Its not like the MDC makes any money out of having Wairarapa United playing in Masterton.

Weather forecast is crap for Wairarapa on Sunday ,heavy rain, southerlies, high of 10 degrees, should suit Fijawatu

Sorry to break up the "where the f are Wairapara going to play" thread but thoughts on the Onehunga vs Caversham game, personally don't know much about Onehunga, recognise a few names there, Cavvy are looking strong at present

More publicity in HB, on rapa, than on our own home team NCR. Whats going on with this?
Masterton council embarrassed as they went through park island yesterday with the intent of providing similar facilities for rapa next year.

Unless the MDC have about a million dollars and then some to make a sports grounds as good as park island, i doubt this will go anywhere

Yeah Bluewater Stadium is a great venue and the surface is superb but Park Island's other fields are also in really good shape compared to any other winter sports fields I've seen in other cities at this time of year. I wouldn't think they spend extra money on those surfaces.

I have just realised I'm in Napier this weekend for some futsal thing so I'll be around on Sunday for the Cup game.  Result.

Might go the Onehunga-Cavvy game on Sunday. Think it could be an alright game too.

Three for me, and two for them.

O Sports are 8th out of 10 in the Northern Prems but have had some good results along the way and have 5 wins to their name. I watched them beat Central 1-0 away on a Friday night earlier in the season and they looked to be a solid side, no big stars from what I remember but played well as a team.

No idea about Caversham but if I was not busy on Sunday then a trip out South may well have been on the cards. The locals at Waikaraka can be quite "vocal"

Not sure.

Last season was a quite large character who was actually very mobile and made some great saves. Don't think he was between the sticks this season but I can't remember who was.
