I thought he was pretty consistent apart from taking orders from Raf in the first half which seamed to change a bit in the second. Young lino was shaking in his shoes, poor fella.

Ugh - we went 1 nil up after UH Center Back passed it to our player at edge of 18 yard box.
We then had our striker sent off for a pretty poor challenge, I dunno, bright Orange card and a good talking to maybe? Either way changed the game. UH then scored from a well taken free kick. 1 all half time. After that UH just ran us off our feet, poor defense and average keeping on my part lead to second. Good finish for third.

Matt B then got sent off after scoring 2 of UH's goals, for trying to kick our left back. Now I don't wanna stir and sound bitter, but it's no wonder people don't like playing at the Hutt. The banter from the clubhouse wasn't particularly witty and was just nasty. They then gave Matt B a standing ovation after he got sent off, and threatened to knock our players teeth out who he kicked and got sent off for doing so. Hardly promoting great football behaviour

Question however - man sent off in Chatham Cup - carries over to league or not?
Hmmm I seem to remember getting very similar when visiting Marist when I played, and I think the banter from the balcony was no worse than Brians verbal tirades from the sideline. I am not sure about the threatening to knock someones teeth out but if I had of heard it I would have dealt with that myself.
Or are you still bitter cos you lost your 1st team keeping place when at UH? Matty B was applauded for his game and scoring two goals not kicking someone. Make sure you get it right!!

Oh, in no way am I saying you wouldn't get it when you visit Marist - we have to handle Brian's tirades every training .
I know why you guys were applauding Matty, he had two well taken goals. But his threat happened right on the byline, as he was walking into the club, if I could hear it 10-15 yards away, anyone should have been able to. But there probably was a lot more noise up there, so understandable if you didn't. I know you guys at the end of the day weren't giving him a clap for getting sent off.

And please, that was what over 2 years ago now, I've moved on, bit low to dredge that up. Lets be honest, I'm pushing my luck in the premier league doesn't matter what club it's at! thelastnomad2010-06-08 17:55:25

Don't think the full draw has been posted up anywhere yet. We have been able to piece it together on here though. Not entirely sure about match dates yet though.

From the South Island:

Caversham (Dunedin) vs. Cashmere (Chch)
Northern Hearts (Timaru) vs. Western (Chch)
Nelson Suburbs (Nelson) vs. Roslyn Waikari (Dunedin)
Mosgiel (Dunedin) vs. Ferrymead Bays (Chch)

Expect the ties in Napier and Nelson to be on Sunday 20th, as Sunday is the preferred day for home fixtures for these clubs. And Metro having a home tie opens the door to a Friday night clash. Otherwise, I'd expect the bulk of the games to be on Saturday 19th.

Cheers,

Of all the teams we could've drawn this round, Cashmere is probably the best we could've hoped for. Barring perhaps Hearts. Apparently it was a really scrappy 1-0 win for them over a poor Nomads side in horrific conditions. But you get yourself in trouble when you underestimate your opponents in these kinds of games, so the boys will have to be on their toes. But I can't see them losing after dispatching Dunedin Tech 5-1.

I dare say Western may be the only remaining Christchurch team in round 4. Mosgiel will give Bays a run for their money, especially here down south.

Have Metro played a Chatham Cup tie on a Friday night before?

Hi all,

You are not going to believe this!

Heard the one about the Chatham Cup stuff-up broadcast to the nation?

Turns out Tuesday's draw for the South Island teams should have been in-Federation only, and not island-wide.

I'm aware of the revised Mainland draw:
Ferrymead Bays v. Cashmere Wanderers, 19th, 2pm
Nelson Suburbs v. Western, 20th, 1pm

The Football South draw hasn't yet been announced, but I understand both ties in the area will take place on the 20th - something to do with some eggball game in Dunedin on the 19th.

Just as well there hasn't yet been an official draw announcement released by NZF, eh? :-))

Cheers,

JR

So is the 4th Round or Round of 16 this year where it becomes a nationwide draw as it suggests on the NZF website or have they f**ked that up too?

Haha thats what Nelson thought last time.

Still.. I was quietly confident Suburbs could win, but Western would be tougher than Roslyn. Two times they've played this year have ended in a draw. Both times Suburbs have scored late to equalize.
