Simple solution, hide all ointment/deep heat/nurofen/linament/arthritis pills/methamphetamine from the Wgtn Utd changing room, Batty will be lost.

it must be killing you on the inside smithy having no good reason to bag United over the last few weeks

When have I ever bagged United?

Oh that's right, last season.

This season though not once!  They've been going good.  I think you missunderstood what I said - I was bagging Wharfies, which I do all the time.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

quality strike from super sub Potter for the second, but Hillys was a classic. Dummied the shot about four times to round players including the keeper before finishing from three yards

Marist 4 - Naenae Zip

Naenae pretty dominate first 30 minutes, till we decided to wake up. Just like our game against Waterside, no proper keeper kills a team

Outstanding goal by Potter....not 30 seconds earlier I was recounting his cracker against Palm Nth in the Chatham Cup at Endeavour  last season and whammo....he dishes up a similar peach of a chest then volley from outside the box to take the lead 2-1.

Hilly thought he was still on the dancefloor at Bettys......jinking his way through Stop Out defenders in the box and then finishing the job after rounding the keeper.

Well in Wharfies....

Is it just me or are Naenae, Wharfies and Marist the only teams in the competition who have not had to pay players to come to their club this season???

Who are those porkyboys no. 7 and 9 in wests team? They need to attend Jenny Craig and Anger Management courses. That orangy team was a class above that red team.

Anyone care to report what happened in the Wests - Wellington United game? I was with first team this week.

#7 would be I. #9...mmm not sure....may have been Fletty.

come say hi next time AngusBeef. knobjuice.

Batty and Little pretty much ran the show today, a pretty impressive display from a team who plays better football than most Central League teams, let alone Capital Premier teams. Full credit to them.

Signing off.

Wests were deficient in every area. Your keeper made about 10 one on one saves to keep the score down. At the end Welly U indulged in target practice, not very successfully mind you. At half time the score was 5 nil and should have been 10 nil ,and at full time the score should have been 20 nil. To be fair wests did try to play football, but just weren't up to it. A stroll in the park for Welly U. I would say our ressies and the Olympic ressies would have beaten Wests, that's how poor they were. That display makes a mockery of that old argument that a ressie team in prem is a good thing  for a club, I saw no evidence that any player in that side would be pushing for a spot in the 1st team.

most likely shambles, thing is he knows who I am (Carnihan)...but hides behind his moniker, unlike myself - no doubt he shakes my hand everytime we cross paths but chooses this forum to slag people off.

Does fading star suggest I was once a star? thanks Angus :) luv ya pal. That makes Rueben Bason and Hayden Flett fading stars also. Aren't we just the bees knees.

Oranje will win the league no doubt, straight back into CL they go. Quite deservedly I might add.

hahaha desperate times Feverish - the initial idea was for us to play a cupla games then head off to Cap 8.....its not quite panned out that way due to numbers at the club. Thats slowly changing now tho so it wont be long till Cap 8 beckons for the both of us.

west team is mostly fading stars.
What a load of absolute b*llocks.  Of the team (including substitutes) today:

4 were 15 years old
1 was 16 years old
3 were 17 years old
1 was 18 years old
1 was 19 years old
1 was 20 years old

Of the entire squad only 4 players were over 20 years old.  Maybe Alan Hansen was right after all when he said you'll win nothing with kids, but maybe it's not always all about winning and at least we're trying to give some good, young footballers the opportunity to gain some experience at a very competitive level playing against some players of real quality.  Hopefully they'll become better players as a result of that exposure.

Sure, the lads took a beating today, and deservedly so, because Wellington Utd were absolute quality, as Carni has already said.  They could easily hold their own in the Central League and most likely will do again next season.  However, despite the beating we took, Graham Little still complimented us in the after match speeches saying he liked what Wests were doing in giving the youngsters a chance to gain this kind of experience and if he had any advice to offer at all to them, it was that they should get a bit more "mongrel" in their game, even when they were several goals down.  He was top quality during the game as well, both in terms of his play and the fact he was encouraging some of our youngest players to get their heads up despite the scroreline.  Maybe that's easier to do when you're in the process of giving a team a spanking, but I thought it was a classy gesture nonetheless.
this league is way beyond them.
You could well be right.  Let's see if you are at the end of the season.

You're probably right.  We definitely need some more experience to balance out the extreme youth.  Unfortunately, we've lost a few of the more experienced players either temporarily or for the entire season to either injury or other commitments.  So, we have to try and make do with what we've got for now.  However, as I said, it's as much about giving these young players experience at this level as anything.  Hopefully, in a couple of years time, if they keep working hard, they will be holding their own at this level or knocking on the door of the first team.
