I don't know what their Central League team was doing this weekend, but if they were inactive or at home...

Is Matt smith not playing first team?

Not 100% sure but I think that maybe one of the guys who played Premier on Monday had played Central League on the Saturday (Chettleburgh?).  Smith and Musa were coming back from suspension so nothing wrong with them playing Premier to work there way back into the Central League team.

Actually more down to a change of coach and a few new players brought in.  As previously mentioned, only one player brought down on Monday and he didn't really have any impact on the game at all.

I think his point was that two of them (musa and smith) were coming back from suspensions so it was understandable for them to be playing 2nds. But im not really fussed who they play, makes for a more entertaining league if wests start playing a strong team

Game should have been over 4 or 5 zip at half time. Was not an overly strong wests side

Can't disagree with that.  Although think the 2nd half was alot more even and wests could easily have won it in the end.

Yip.  That was my point.  Can't expect players to come straight back from suspension into the first team, especially when the firsts have managed a good draw with Miramar on the Saturday.

So next week if Musa and Smith are with the 1sts, and so the two players whos place they've taken drop down to the 2nds then you'll accuse us of dropping players down again?  Only so many players can play first team.  I don't really care much either its just that its interesting that people are on here suggesting that wests are stacking when in recent weeks more Capital 7 players have played for the Cap Prem team than Central league players.

To be honest it makes the league far more exciting if wests can upset some of the top teams and throw it open again.

Nope, been there most of my life other than the last 4 or so years at Tawa.

In fact, played for the wests third team about 5 or 6 years ago against a Wharfies side who stacked their team by dropping a first teamer down.  Some striker or something.

the four year absence would explain it.
Yeah that player was me coming back from a suspension. You cant expect me to walk stright back into the first team can you? (actually jokes aside that might have been me - was it at Adventure Pk and Rueben and Greg Parish were playing?)

Ha ha!  That would have been the game.

I understand that wests have dropped alot of players towards the end of the season to keep the 2nd team in premier.  I'm not sure that Mondays game can be compared to that though if thats what you are implying.

classic - obviously I am not preaching here then ha, just saying that technically they were dropping them (reg's wise). Heard Musa was average apart from the through ball for the goal anyway.

Jake Theron's suspension seems a bit harsh.  http://tiny.cc/xshdd

"Lower Hutt argued against the length of the ban, with the support of a statement from Wests, but Theron's appeal was tossed out at a disciplinary hearing last Friday."
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

hard for a fair decision to be made on the "mimicking call" referee's report says he saw a headbutt, and whether it connected or not the act is still violent.

Thats rubbish, if it did not connect there is no issue here, according to the precedent set by capital football jake would have been better off punching the opponent knocking them out and getting 5 weeks. So inconsistent, who are the puppets who sit on the tribunal?

Law 12 (fouls and misconduct) part (f) indicates a player is guilty of misconduct if they strike or attempt to strike an opponent. So if he missed when he tried to headbutt the other player it doesn't matter - it's still a red card offence. He's been a very silly boy - any local Scouse can give him lessons on how to headbutt properly - it's not that difficult.Toffeeman662011-06-09 13:31:20

5 week band was for a slap. 1 year was for punch, I believe from inputs in this forum and talk about the field.

so if I'm walking down the street and attempt to punch you then it's not attempted assault?? I think the law would disagree with you. Same applies on the footy field an attempted punch/headbutt is voilent conduct and should be disciplined as such. Just cos the attacker is inept it doesn't mean the intent to injure wasn't there.

Has the other player put their hand up and sad ban me for same period because I mimicked receiving a head butt and fell over in pain. I doubt it.

noone can really tell if the head butt was for real or not, the offedning player made the action of a head butt, it's not possible to tell the amount of force unless you're on the receiving end....in my opinion you mimick/fake a headbutt and you get called for it you deserve to be smacked with a ban, there is no room in the game for any assault on another player. (faked or real)
