There are 17 Laws in the game of Football. However in a lot of situations Law 18 is applied - this is the Law of Commonsense.
Obviously this did not happen in the case of the Wests Goal keeper and exactly the same when Cappy suffered his fractured skull

I'd just like to point out that while there was an attempt by one of the officials to stop people communicating with ambulance despatch to come onto the field during the Cappy fractured skull incident, the common sense did prevail and the ambulance despatch were consequently provided with the most accurate description of the situation that was possible considering the circumstances.

100% true.

I was on the sidelines for the Cappy incident and the refs and linos appeared to be panicking and were definitely completely focussed on not allowing ANYONE near. I know for an absolute fact, as I spoke to her, that they refused to allow a Casualty nurse who was in attendance onto the field, but ultimately did at the second attempt by her to get out there, but only on the insistence of a Karori official, so ultimately common sense did prevail.

Is it true that those who moan and shout loudly after injury are not as serious as those injured who can't even make a squeak? Is this common sense? Can your sport administrator require medical and qualified medical people to be identified to your umpires before each match, just in case. Is ths another common sense?

No upper hutt game this week? Any reason for that other than allowing welly united to catch up their game?

Nope. That's exactly the reason.

In response to the game where the Wests keeper got injured. Referees have to officiate matches under the Laws of the Game. Law 5 The Referee - Powers and Duties *ensures no unauthorised persons enter the field. Further the Laws of the Game state that the referee must adhere to the the following procedure *after questioning the injured player, the referee may authorise one, or at most two doctors, to enter the field of play to assess the injury and arrange the players's safe and swift removal from the field.

Yes there will be anomalies where common sense prevails (such as Cappy's injury where questioning the player wasn't an option).

However, according to the reports received by Capital Football, Wests had their own medical staff and these were the people authorised to treat the player.

Partners/Parents can be a positive influence when a player is injured. Equally they can make the siutation worse if they are quite upset or particulary if they want to have an argument with the ref who is trying to get treatment for the player or have a go at the oppostion player who caused the injury. A referee won't know how this will pan out when an unathorised person enters the field.

Cheers, great work cap football for answering questions on here. Should make it more exciting, especially if welly united can knock in a few goals this weekend

Miramar 2-1 up at half time. Great first goal by Justin Gulley.

United pulled one back thanks to a contentious peno just on the stroke of half time.

Quite an even game. Mar not as stacked as I expected. Glass Man Farrington and Wiremu Patrick playing for them are the only stackees I can see.

Terry O'Donnell with the nutmegs down the right has been strong for United. Won the peno too.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Pen before half time was crucial, changed the complexion of the game. Was he inside smithy? You were almost perfectly in line. The nutmeg banter down the wing was quite amusing, well done 2nd best and smithy. Big win for welly united, olympic to snatch something against upper hutt next week

Wasn't there, but would just like to point out there's no such thing as 'last man' in LotG.

That narrow gap between 1st and 2nd is making it quite a run in.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

The contact was both players turning into each other, they landed 4 inches into the penalty area. Contact was well outside the box but ref pointed straight to the spot.

Well I was about about 3 yards inside the 18 yard box.  Pretty sure I had a better view.  The lino was dead in line.  Pretty sure he had an even better view.

I doubt Pedro could even see over the hand rail.
