Well that was a huge surprise today! Not so much the result but definitely the lacklustre Cash Tech performance. I don't think I've ever seen them so poor, what happened?

The majority of the action, and where Miramar achieved huge success, was down Cash Tech's left side. Although I can appreciate Ogilvie is a fill-in fullback (and a good player) he had a terrible game and looked to ridiculously kick out at someone on the touchline, was anyone dugout side or can confirm? I was standing on the clubhouse side so just saw/heard the reaction of upset Miramar fans.

Miramar's two central midfielders, star Ben Harris, and their nippy striker tore Cash Tech apart after the first 10-15mins. They made Wortelboer look a youth player and the twins + Terris very old men.

I saw a comment on here earlier about a lack of maturity shown by a different club, would be interesting to hear such opinions of the immaturity shown by Cash Tech players today, assuming people watched or even played in the game today.

Cash Tech need a massive reaction for next week! But is Whitey banned now? Very significant loss if so.

Just going back to transfers/registrations into a club after the cut off. If a player joins from overseas would they be able to get international clearance after the deadline?
Permalink Permalink

No the transfer cutoff deadline applies to all transfers, local or international. Clearance can be finalised after the cutoff if started before June 30

Automatic 1 game suspension, possibly more depending on what he was sent off for. Could Cashmere end up without a single trophy this season after all they promised? It's getting very intriguing. White and possibly Siggy out for next week in what promises to be another cracker!

What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?

Ogilvie definitely kicked a spectator. Good on Tom Schwarz for going over at the end of the game and apologising however should never have happened and don't know how none of the officials saw it. And the spectator was about 90 years old too, what a clown Ogilvie is.

The best part was at the end him clapping the Coastal crew and said, "well done Coastal, keep it classy"  I was like, "you just kicked an old man how is that classy???"

It was an interesting refereeing selection and I'm surprised Broonie was so cool about the penalty decision as from where I was it looked really soft. Like heaps soft. The rest of the game was really heated and fast paced it was good to watch.

Ronaldoknow.....they have already won a trophy??

Coastal will have a great chance of winning next week with Tech having a depleted squad and if Ogilvie gets a suspension? Could that be on the cards?

Heaps riding on almost every game this coming Saturday with plenty of permutations:

The big one: Top of the table clash when Coastal Spirit host Cashmere Technical - with the winner then odds on to take the title

Almost as big: Halswell take on FC Twenty11 at the Nest  - with Halswell needing to get something out of this game or their ever present MPL status likely to be over

Vital game between Western and University: Whoever wins then they would be safe (if Halswell loose to FC), if this game ends in a draw then does not help Halswell

The final game between Ferrymead Bays and Nelson Suburbs: Bays needs the win to keep clear of FC and stay in the top half of the title and Suburbs also need the win to keep alive their faint hopes of finishing in runner-up spot in the unlikely situation of Coastal dropping two of their last three games.

Likely to be plenty of traffic on twitter and cell phones between the four games.

Gary Ogilve a coach of young aspiring Christchurch footballers kicking a spectator, swearing profusely at officials and getting involved with spectators verbally.... The class of the man must be questioned. As for the battle between coastal and tech this coming Saturday we have already seen that coastal have been off the mark 3 times already. Preparation? Coaching? Certainly think player for player the teams are matched with technical ability. Ekow far better coach in my opinion. Without his senior players maintaining order in the team I feel Brownie would struggle to get much from his "Mature Players". Clapham extremely over rated and arrogant, apparently very unpopular in his own team, chip on his shoulder? Loves to be a big fish in a small pond? Tom Swartz holding tech together? Coastals confidence/arrogance starting to draw attention ... but have nothing to show as of yet. This weekend is going to be a juicy encounter....

Yes i was on the far side to the changing rooms and saw number 11 (Gary Ogilve) kick at a spectator from miramar. Never seen such a thing in the mpl or chatham cup before. Disgraceful.

Coastal have to win 3 games not just this Saturday. Nelson always a tough game. Possibly FC2011 Season is all English Cup now but they have a  decent coach and some good young players. We will have to be at full steam to get 9 points and if we don't get 9 then we won't win MPL.

Looked like a fair challenge from Gary on the old man for me? He only had eyes for the ball. Maybe a bit of contact with the man after, but really it was just a good, hard and fair challenge that you would expect in a Chatham Cup match.

Western v Uni

Winner safe and a draw is a calamity for Halswell. Hawks have to beat FC I can't see them making up Uni GD.

Yeah I seen Garry kick a spectator. I was in between the dugouts and managed to get a glimpse. Pretty sure Cantona went to jail for that kind of carry on. Personally I feel Gary should lose his job at Mainland for that but there would have to be a formal complaint for action to be taken.

Yeah I can agree Coastal have the better coach and are in better form for this clash. Unsure is Macca is fit.Be interesting to see if he plays in the English cup Semi. Surely we will see a full strength Coastal side tomorrow night....

My money is on Ferrymead Bays to get more trophys then Tech this season and have the last laugh.

Coastal to win the league and bays to win the English cup.

Was interesting to see FC players and Coastal players going for Miramar.... FC were certainly cheering Miramar and Coastal were definately happy when they seen White got sent off. Im sure if it were Uni against Miramar they would have the whole city behind them... Why are Tech so disliked? Or are they?

Not sure the name but i think it is the Mcfarlane Cup? Canterbury team that does the best in the Chatham Cup. And not that they have won it with games still left in the season but i assume they have the Hurley Shield? Or are neither of these played for anymore? AW82 will know....

At the risk of actually talking football rather than slagging players/clubs/each other off....what do you guys think of the rumour going round that Mainland wish to enter the Canterbury Under 20's team in the MPL (possibly as soon as next season). From a selfish point of view it could be devastating for our club given we have 8 players in the preliminary Under 20's squad. I'm hoping it's a simply a daft idea from someone but i have heard the rumour from a few different people recently

FC2011 in danger of losing 8 premier players to another team . Take a look at your womens team and see the irony in that .

Unlikely at best. Doubtful any club would be in favor.

Yes it is the MacFarlane Cup that Cashmere Technical won as the last remaining Canterbury side in the Chatham Cup. They also hold the Hurley Challenge Shield and have two possible challenges left against Western in the penultimate round on 20 Aug and then if they hold then face FC Twenty11 in the final round on 27 Aug.

I am sure the MPL is a club based completion sure surely this would exclude any rep side.

Will doing that give these players a better shot at playing for NZ at some stage?

Mate, if everyone you meet is somehow flawed, or a bad person, or whatever, it might be time to have a look in the mirror for the one causing the issues. My point is that you seem to have negative shark to say about almost everyone, yet very few nice things.

Im a negative git I know. Im such a little biatch in real life, its great to vent and say what I feel without fearing getting a smack :p

But seriously, players nor clubs would buy into playing for a Canty youth team for a number of reasons. COMPUTER SAYS NO

Just for the record that is Wang CHANs views and not Wang CHANGs. I would never slag off Pitman, I think he is a great coach and exactly the type of coach New Zealand football teams need if they are to do well. Not necessarily enjoy the football, but do well.

See Smithy the confusion these impostors are causing??
